Founded in 1987, the museum displays historic boards, legendary surfer artifacts and classic surf films that trace how this sport became a global phenomenon. From the World’s Largest Surfboard to Bruce Brown’s “Endless Summer” camera, this collection spans generations of surf culture. We interviewed museum executive director, PT Townend to learn more about the museums history and exhibits - as well as his experience as the first IPS/ASP World Surfing Champion 1976.
