It is my pleasure to announce “Ephemera”: an experimental audio visual experience featuring some outstanding guests from Nelson and beyond. Combining music, visuals, and movement, this is an experience catered to a multitude of senses, connecting mind, body, and soul. To open the evening S a l i x (@salix.jakob ) and Limnal (@_limnal_ ) (Nelson) will co-create an expansive soundtrack for improvisational movement guided by Dünya (@amberrosetree ) and Shiv (@_______.shiv.__ ) - an exploratory integration of rhythm and sound with the body in a freeform container you can enter and leave at your own pace. We then transition to a softer, more relaxed posture as Channel Nexus (@ravyn_ruhnke @lucasruhnke ) (Nelson) brings their dreamy soundbath meditations to soothe and restore. In the final act, Schema Drift (@brontron @_cy.matic_ ) (Vancouver) will perform their singular Audio/Visual experience, featured at Active/Passive and New Forms Festival - a true feast for the mind as deeply textured sonics are intertwined with complex and reactive live visuals that draw you into their multidimensional world. We also have @insidevoices.events on site curating a deep listening environment for relaxation and transcendent introspection, with cozy chill spaces and tea service, continuing our work bringing alternative listening experiences forward to the community. This has been a goal for a very long time and we are all very excited to push the boundaries and integrate so many passions together under one roof. Next up - Inside Voices 005 Getting excited to bring together some talented friends for another deep listening session - @_______caro and @emrrldcity will both be visiting and what a combo! Caro aka Birthname will be perfoming all new material, and Emrrld will be unveiling his new ambient project Glaux in an album listening session. I'll be offering up some experimental live 4track mixing as well as @_limnal_ We at Inside Voices seek to provide a relaxing and restorative atmosphere at our events - if you are curious but feeling burnt-out or socially anxious, this is a place for quiet contemplation, to unravel and unwind. We usually serve tea and offer up cozy spaces for laying low (literally) - byo mug and cushion for added padding and comfort. A journal or drawing materials is often nice too :) Grateful to @lumenessencetattoo for hosting us - they have a ton of amazing and inspiring art in the studio. it's a dark time in the world, with war and unrest creeping ever closer to our homes here in privileged lands. peace is delicately held, yet resilience and strength are integral parts to maintaining it; we have to work for the good things, even more than the bad. often the question is "what can we do?" I don't have a clear answer, other than to say that working to create community and shared spaces of open-minded thought is as critical as ever. music for me is something to gather around; something to reveal deeper parts of ourselves, to nurture growth and connection to what really matters in life. it might seem frivolous, but music was with us before civilization, and will be with us to the end- bitter, sweet, terrible, or quiet. come hang if you feel the same 💜

A couple fun milestones from this past month - and leaves 🍂 Thanks to everyone who checked out my @_limnal_ mix for @shapes.tv - it's been getting some really good feedback and I always love to see where people react and comment along the timeline. (Shambs pt 2) - Bit late to these but it's been a wild ride. Other parties have since come and gone but it's nice to take a moment to reflect now that the weather is turning - this was not one to forget! I only took a few photos of a handful of things, and of course most of my major highlights were not captured due to Full Send being in effect 1-4: Hole-some vibes 3-7: Fun times backstage 8-9: A couple teaser snaps from the @acro.mada performance - it was an honour to soundtrack their movement this year 🙏🏻 10: Lex Amor on the @grove_stage - I think there were some technicals happening but this hit so good for me at the time - was also in love with the dark yet refined look of the stage design with the screens blacked out behind. 11-12: A couple snaps of @origintxt at the secret garden - great set that I wish was recorded! Not shown: - Skreamizm ridiculous AM vibes at the AMP - honestly so much fun and a treat to throw down with my new festie-besties @kidsacred and @_hush__hush_ (not to mention the cult witch beckoning dancers on stage! A++) - @leland_river closing set at the Secret Garden - buddy you had me locked start to finish and we did some of the best dancing in recent memory at the back of the crowd - Best of all, the man himself @loefah at the grove... if you know you know. Stone cold chiller, unshakeable master of the craft. 100% spiritual gateway. Special mention - Big ups @footprintsbyron for getting such a wicked stage together under pressure and for welcoming me back there once again. ... As they say in the circus - Again, Only Better!! 💜

(Pt 1/2) This year was an absolute blast on the farm. Big big ups to so many folks this year - so many stand out moments, most of which I have little evidence to show (some photos to come however). First and foremost utmost love to the Rabbit Hole crew this year - head honchos @rosssoooo & @nathanielrfm produced the best one yet, and we finally got @nocturnesoundsystem on the business. Out to @salix.jakob @ciscles_music @chacho_sound and @runekey_music for an excellent Thursday Hole-ing 🔥 I had a great time playing Friday (an unusual departure for me) but got to bring out some higher energy vibes. Returning to east van's finest underground venue later this month for another round on the soundsystem - it's been fun working with @vasho putting this one together and I'm stoked to be sharing the decks with some high quality selectors @emrrldcity @scree_running @anomalous.rhythms There are cheap presales available for those tight on funds - where can you even find an event these days for less than $20?? We strive to keep it accessible so please reach out if you want to come and there are still barriers. This one is truly for the community and for the heads- no faff, no fuss, just a good time with great people and the music we love 💜
