Sometimes, we draw by hand. For any of 100 different reasons. Sometimes it's faster. A hand drawing communicates certain ideas better. Feels more like process instead of product. It gets us away from our screens. It helps us think. It helps us step back, but also zoom in.
Drawing by hand helps us re-focus on what matters.

Situated just off the Embarcadero, Mili Wine Bar celebrates iconic views of the San Francisco Bay, drawing inspiration from global wine cultures while creating something entirely its own. It's a place that honors its roots while feeling fresh and alive.
Since opening, it's become exactly what we hoped—a space where the neighborhood gathers, celebrates, and keeps coming back.

We're not here to greenwash—we're here to design spaces that last.
For us, sustainability isn't about chasing certifications or buzzwords. It's about making choices that respect materials, reduce waste, and create spaces people don't want to replace. That means adaptive reuse and renovations over demolition. Durable finishes over trendy ones. Quality pieces that can move with you, grow with you, and be repaired when needed.
We also believe plants and landscape aren't just aesthetic—they're essential to the human experience. Natural light, borrowed views, greenery, and fresh air aren't luxuries. They're what make a space feel good to inhabit.
The most sustainable choice is often the simplest: keep things out of the landfill. Buy once, buy well. Repair instead of replace. Design for longevity, not obsolescence.
Cheap materials don't save money when you're replacing and repairing constantly—they just fill landfills and create more work down the line. We'd rather invest in something that lasts.

Sometimes my nose is so deep in my work, that I forget this might be your first time choosing an architect or designer. At Studio BBA, we think holistically about design and how that impacts and elevates the human experience. For us, that means considering acoustics, natural day lighting, task / ambient / and decorative lighting, finishes, and scale but also furnishings, accessories and plants.
We prepare space plans and permits for your new interconnecting stair and custom bike storage. Beyond traditional architecture, we also provide interior architecture and design through finish and furniture selections. But we don't stop there, we design your plant program, select accessories and facilitate custom art and signage.
