Less than two weeks to go before Terra Obscura takes root at Club Cheek for the very first time. We are really excited to bring our world into this wonderful space and to introduce you to the @gravitypleasure co-founder ~ slyn ~ who will open the ambient portal and set the tone for the evening 🌀 slyn is a sound artist, DJ and live performer working at the intersection of experimental music, sound art and marine ecology. In her practice, she draws from her background in marine biology and explores listening as both a scientific and emotional act, weaving together textured electronic compositions, field recordings and vocals to create fluid meandering soundscapes. Together with @slowfoam she is the co-fouder of Gravity Pleasure, a label inspired by hydrofeminism and queer ecology, supporting artists in experimental electronics and co-runs @skinny.dipping__ , a Glasgow-based event series that highlights women, non-binary, and trans artists inhabiting the off-kilter grey space between club/dance, experimental, and ambient music. On 7 April, HEAVENPHETAMINE land at Bloc+ for a special free show. @heavenphetamine is the duo of Hiroki and Sara, blending psychedelic rock, experimental post-punk, progressive textures, trip hop and acid house into a sound that is entirely their own. Intricate synth loops collide with live, driving drums and melodic Japanese vocals, creating a cinematic, melancholic atmosphere that feels both intimate and explosive. With 285 shows across 37 countries, the band has built a powerful live reputation worldwide. After releasing two post-punk EPs, they relocated to Tbilisi and formed a deep connection with Ukraine, playing a defining show in Kyiv just before the war. Following the invasion, they embarked on a European charity tour and later recorded their 2024 album The Sun On A Winter Day in Kyiv during air raids and blackouts — capturing resilience, tension and beauty in its purest form. Inspired by artists such as Pink Floyd, LCD Soundsystem, Fishmans and Yellow Magic Orchestra, their live show is immersive, atmospheric and deeply transportive. Drawing on her background in marine biology and frustrations between the disconnect between academics and the arts, her practice aims to explore listening as both a scientific and emotional act.
