Happy to finally have my EP “Perception Field” out on Midgar 💫 It all started with “Gallop” in early 2023, which sparked the idea to share a batch of tracks with Jacopo. The label’s diversity always inspired me; different styles, but still one clear thread. What followed was a 3-year journey where we not only shaped the EP, but also built a close friendship. No rushing, just trusting the process until everything felt right. We finalized it in Australia last year after finishing “u77”, “the Field” and “Totem”. A rewarding experience, and special to create something that blends our visions into one story, our own Perception Field. Thanks @sever.ja for the trust and vision, big love 🫰

The track offers a first glimpse into Perception Field, due mid April to coincide with Midgar’s 12th anniversary. The 5-track EP was composed around the idea that perception is never fixed, and it’s an impressive showcase from an artist that shows he’s capable of merging layers of his excellent sound design with deeper feelings. So happy to finally share this announcement with you all! HyperrTerra’s 3rd Edition will see Midgar teaming up with London and FOLD based collective @transmissions____ for another memorable summer day/night at Backsteinboot. This time we start at 1pm, but doors will open at least 30 minutes earlier. We love to welcome our friends slowly and let them take the best spots before the first set starts. Ambient will be followed by dub, downtempo and sound experimentations, and obviously some groovy shit to dance to, on cute and comfy carpets in the garden. A new addition for this year is the Bodily Workshop by @fyirobyn , taking place upstairs during the early afternoon. The workshop has its own separate ticket listed together with the event’s one (check our linktree and RA). In the evening at 10pm we move inside to continue partying until the morning. There will be some b2b, and a bit of swimming (we’re on a island after all) please be prepared and bring goggles and a swimsuit. If you attended the last HyperrTerra, you probably remember the insane soundsystem was an important part of the experience. That is why are entrusting again the sound to @restless.audio , a friend and incredible engineer who will bring a proper setup to Backsteinboot!! ALSO..We might keep the garden active in some way during the night, we will update this space when we have more concrete details. Stay tuned. There’s a bunch of early bird available! The single “Inertia” is the first glimpse into Signals from the Stars — Vietnamese Paris-based artist @worship_prod Đ.K.’s upcoming EP, due mid-July on Midgar. There’s something oddly comforting in the idea of a dead star still sending signals — distant, mechanical, yet somehow filled with meaning. Inertia and the whole record, tap into that contradiction: the sensation of being impossibly far from home, yet still drawn toward something vast, unseen, and filled with memory. While it feels banal to visually represent a pulsar in space, the idea behind the cover is to change perspective — as if observing time and space passing by from a starship made of stone. The window design draws loosely from sci-fi and art deco / Moebius aesthetic references. Signals from the Stars is now available for digital and vinyl preorder via Bandcamp — check our linktree! Exactly one month ago we released Signals from the Stars by Đ.K. @worship_prod - and I want to express an heartfelt thanks for the trust in the label, delivering one of the best records of our catalogue. Back in 2021, after listening and playing ‘Đ.K - The Goddess is Dancing’ that brought me in the rabbit hole of his flawless discography, I decided to reach out to Dangkhoa and plant a seed, hoping that sooner or later we could work together. Couple of years passed, and in 2023 I noticed him including @ruffcherry track on Midgar in a Kiosk Radio Show - that made me so happy! I sent a message to say thanks and reminded that doors were always open ✨ Finally I received some great news by the end of last year (December 2024) including a pack of 4 tracks! Not much to do, they were perfect! But two of them deserved an extended length, which Dangkhoa reworked in no time. Till this point we never met in person, but later on during 2025 we could finally bring him to Berlin for the Midgar x @useless.seconds openair at Backsteinboot, where he played a super sick set! (that we’re going to release soon!) Thank you for everything, my friend! ✸ Last summer, the Hyperr Terra event took place by the water and under the trees at @backsteinboot on Eiswerder Island, Berlin. I was invited to play in the garden when the sun starts to kick the bucket, between 6 and 8pm, after @worship_prod and before dear @christian_coiffure Big up to the passionate teams @_midgar_  and @useless.seconds for creating another special occasion to be reunited and to share my emotions through a personal and hybrid set from ambient into slow rhythms, dubby sometimes joyfully yet bassy lines.

 Shoutouts to the strong community of dancers, custom-built soundsystem, local food, natural wine and for making it possible to find solutions for people to come if they’re facing financial difficulties.

New recording online via Midgar Soundcloud! Last January we returned to @ohmberlin , one of our favourite venues in Berlin, this time together with the Onyro crew from Madrid. Berlin based @derive_____ opened the night navigating bass weight, broken rhythms and slow building tension. In her own words: Been exploring the liminal zone between misty half-time rhythms and propulsive basslines with this mix. Like a cheeky forest elf finding themself between the pillars and pipes of a tingle-tangled sound-machine body in full effect. Both Midgar and OHM hold a very special place in my heart, so I got really excited when Jacopo asked me to play the opening, giving me the space to shape the atmosphere for the night. Thank you <3

Italian-born and long based in Berlin, @sever.ja has spent the last decade shaping the contemporary European underground scene, most visibly through @_midgar_ , the label and platform he founded in 2014. There, sound, visual language and curation are treated as a single, evolving ecosystem, and his work has left a deep imprint on a generation of artists and organisers – including ourselves at memòri and useless seconds. Jacopo (his real name) even became a dear friend over the past years, as we share a common musical vision and have been co-organising a few parties together. There are a few people without whom we could never have imagined this first edition, and he is certainly one of them.
