Hoffman (@all3cylinders ) Photography & Art by Tal Émile Quốc-Phòng Yaron (@teqpy ) Cover Design & CD Layout by Elle DioGuardi (@elledioguardi ) A few years ago, I started writing short pieces of music with just my trumpet and a radio, to practice creating with self-imposed limitations. I love the simplicity and the mobility of the small battery powered radios, and find comfort in the soft static and lo-fi tape sounds. This process inspired many of the melodies and phrases you hear on this album. These tracks explore grief, connection, sleep, transit, and change. In Dreams of Radio Brass, you will hear trumpet, flügelhorn, trombone, tape loops, field recordings of trains, recorded voices, a fender rhodes and radios. Big thank you to my buddy Rafferty, who invited me to the studio to record and is a big reason this album came into being. I’m very excited to share this music with you, hope you enjoy :)

“Radio 1” is out now on all streaming platforms! This is the first in a series of musical vignettes limited to trumpet and portable radio, and I’m very happy to put it out into the world. Radio 1 brings me a sense of calm when I play it, so I hope it creates that same feeling for you when you listen to this recording or hear it live. This video was made with the help of my wife and creative partner in life, Elle @ellevlt #DioHullArts. We spent an afternoon with my brother Jeff and sister-in-law Sarah at Floyd Bennett Field near the beach, and I transformed into an aircraft marshaller for a few hours ;) Thank you to the greatest-of-all-time Rafferty Swink @lownoon for recording/mixing this and longtime collaborator & friend Caleb Hoffman @all3cylinders for mastering. Yesterday sure was a jam-packed, fun-filled day for Radio Brass. One for the books. We hit the studio @soundhomerecording with @lownoon and started on the next album 🤡, took a nap and then played two sets @troostnyc . Debuted some new music and made new friends 🎺📻 Next show will be a private rooftop show in Boston on Sunday, with just the Radio Brass trio and @eleanorelektramusic , DM for deets.

Wowow, very excited to be back at Troost next week (Tues, 4/7) with a rare five-piece lineup for the first set, featuring @johncushingofficial @sharshofski @maxridleymusic and Tim Wolf. Two sets, 8-10 pm. Come early, free but tips much appreciated. Flyer & hand-lettering by @elledioguardi
