[Repost from michitassey] In reflecting on how being a part of this band has served me, I feel entirely bewildered at how a few moments in time and saying yes to singing guest vocals and playing a toy xylophone on a math rock record completely altered the course of my life. People Like You/Really From has given me the enormous privilege of creating the most meaningful art with four of the most brilliant musicians and fiercest friends I have met to date. It introduced me to my soulmate, now husband??? and many many more hugely important people who I could not imagine my life without (if we met each other through music, yes this means you). I have gotten to travel the country sharing my lived experience via song and have been floored by the voices/stories I have had the privilege of hearing along the way. So yes, it is with an overflowing proud, grateful and heavy heart that I bow my head to the end of this chapter. If you have it in your aging elder-emo hearts to have a little fun this week, it would mean the world to see you at one of our last shows.
