We are thrilled to have the incredible @maldevisa at NICE, a fest this summer ☀️🌸🎵

Mal Devisa is the songwriting, liberation, and poetry project of multifarious artist Deja Carr based in Amherst, MA. We asked Deja what makes her NICE: “The recognition that all people deserve it and the understanding that I’m grateful to be able to exist at the same time as you. Someone messaged me and said that someone else had commented on how hard it was to find my music, and said to me something along the lines of “no it’s not! Have you ever tried just messaging her?!” And I think about that everyday. THAT is my reputation (according to some people) and there’s nothing that makes me more grateful in this world. I’ve definitely had times when I wasn’t nice, and it affected me, greatly.” “I grew up seeing noise, punk, hip-hop, ska shows in Western Mass. It gave me my wings. It birthed all of my bands including Mal Devisa and it’s where I feel the most like myself. Shout out to Boston for all of the enthusiastic and beautiful people and venues.
