Let’s come together for a day of Dance-ing! An opportunity to spend time together and experience dance in different ways – dancing, watching, listening, talking and simply being. We need events that bring us together around something shared. Dance can be that! We are launching a new initiative: a series of events that create space to connect, be a community and engage with dance - all in one place, over a single day. The first ilDance Event takes place on May 17, 2026, from 15:00 to 21:00 at CCAP in Stockholm. WELCOME TO THE iCoDaCo DIGITAL PLATFORM! After more than a year of development, the iCoDaCo Digital Platform is now live! The platform is a pan-European virtual space for the contemporary dance community — supporting collective co-creation, hybrid distribution, and open-access knowledge exchange. It hosts a growing archive of texts, audio, and video materials, making choreographic knowledge and dance-making practices freely accessible to all. It currently presents artistic outcomes from 15 residency weeks with European collectives, held between November 2024 and March 2026. Collectives across 11 countries have contributed content and used the platform as a space for dialogue and sharing. Our goal has been to create the first open-access digital platform dedicated to contemporary dance practices in the 21st century. The platform supports transnational collaboration and exchange, led by @ildance (Sweden) in partnership with Creativity Lab (Latvia) and @circeplatform (Georgia). Finally, the digital platform we’ve been developing for over a year will be released in just five days on 15 May! Collectives across 11 countries involved in the @icodaco project have been uploading content to the platform, using it as a space for discussion during their Saturday sharing sessions. The aim has been to make this content public and the first open-access platform dedicated to contemporary dance practices in the 21st century. Collectives have shared insights into their creative processes during residencies, through images, videos, and other media. The platform supports transnational co-creation and exchange. Its development has been led by @_ildance_ (Sweden), in partnership with Creativity Lab (Latvia) and @circeplatform (Georgia). An additional key collaborator, @onspotstory_europe has provided the database and initial platform design where all materials are stored, in collaboration with www.Museum.Link. Another highlight not to be missed: a work-in-progress sharing of @israelaloni ’s new project - Intimacy/Intimidation. Intimacy/Intimidation exploring the limits and formations of inter-personal relations. This piece bends the borders between fear of the Other and the desire to get close to them. In a post-pandemic world — continuous reminders of the urgency of Me Too, constant demonisation of the Other, transition into contactless interpersonal relations, and at the same time rising yearning for connection, Aloni explores if and how we can reconcile these seemingly contradicting urges. One of the highlights of the ilDance Event: Artist talk about intimacy and consent in contemporary dance and performance practices! Guest artists @johanna.willigrosenstein , @biggestrob , and @_luca_tomaselli , moderated by @israelaloni , will be having a conversation addressing the body, the human(e), the inhuman(e), the singular and the collective. How close are we allowed to get to each other? How close is too close? We long for intimacy while also wanting to feel safe and secure, how do we negotiate these potentially opposing desires? Johanna Willig-Rosenstein will reflect on working within group contexts, including her experience as a dancer with Cullberg and the creation of EXPOSURE, developed in collaboration with an intimacy coordinator. Robin Jonsson will share his approach to intimacy and empathy in work with nonhuman performers (robots) and nonphysical realities (virtual). This project is building on and complements @iCoDaCo , our ongoing Creative Europe-funded project focused on collective authorship, artistic mobility, co-creation models, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Through iCoDaCo, we are developing the world’s first open-access digital platform for contemporary practices with the aim to enhance digital collaboration in the culture ecosystem. After our creation process in Uddevalla, and taking part at the @dancinghistories Festivals, in August 2025, we returned to Gothenburg for the finale. We hosted a series of events; a workshop in collaboration with @balettakademiengoteborg , followed by a whole program at @gathenhielmskahuset including Gaga/people classes, led by @leebrummer Lee Brummer and the final performances for Dancing Histor(y)ies with the piece A Moment of Endlessness. A Moment Of Endlessness, incorporated a text by Hayim Nahman Bialik and Kohelet (Ecclesiastes), this piece explores senses and sensations of time and how it can be pulled, morphed and transformed through relations and relationships.
