2024, you have been complicated and filled with all the things; triumphs and failuers, professional and personal. 2024 saw out the end of Wicked at Gothenburg Opera (though officially a 2023 project) I’m accepting with open arms the joy it brought also in 2024, and the brilliant cast and crew that are one in a million. At “ilDance” with @israelaloni after 4 years in the making, we officially kicked off our creative Europe project @icodaco - International Contemporary Dance Collective, which employed 55 contemporary dance artists from 10 different countries to research and create over the coming 3 years. Additionally I began the 1st development of a new (and beautifully complex) creation “Conflicted/ Uncomfortable conversations” in Härnösand, created a new work “SURVIVE” in Adelaide Australia, choreographed the glorious and hilarious @evildeadsweden produced by @swann_entertainment in Stockholm and worked as choreographic consultant on the dreamy and heartwarming “A Christmas carol” produced by @levandescenkonst , both shows directed by the one and only @johanjarlerikbark Its’s been a joy and pleasure to teach and work across Sweden, Finland, Israel and Australia this year sharing Gaga movement language, ballet and my own repertoire, speaking on pannels and leading auditions. However, the failures are carried with an immensely heavy heart; the situations in which nothing has changed. As a person, as a people, as a country, we have failed to put an end to this war and we have failed in bringing the remaining 100 hostages home from the hands of terrorists. Both the personal and collective joys, successes and triumphs will never be full and complete inside this reality in which our brothers and sisters are still held captive and in which innocent civilians (no mater where they live) are being killed daily at the hands of power hungry individuals and terrorists. I hope, pray and will do everything in my power to be able to write differently at the end of 2025. Stay healthy, stay safe, care for yourself, care for others, be kind. Dance in the sand, sing in the rain, laugh till your belly aches, take nothing and no one for granted. Thanks 2024 for the lessons!
