✨ Planning approval secured at Rochester High Street ✨   Our proposal for Parklake Estates Ltd has been approved by Medway’s Planning Committee, bringing new life to a long vacant site in Chatham Intra.   The scheme will deliver 28 new homes, alongside enhanced public realm, new landscaping and tree planting, and improved pedestrian connections that will help revitalise this part of the High Street.   Inspired by Chatham Intra’s rich heritage, the design reinstates the historic building line and creates a contextual, place specific response rooted in its surroundings. We are especially proud that councillors described the scheme as “set[ting] a benchmark” for delivering complex urban sites, recognising its strong social, economic and environmental benefits.   Another great milestone for the team 👏 #Architecture #UrbanRegeneration #Placemaking

A new connection to the water at Teviot Estate! The launch of the new pontoon dock marks an important step in reconnecting the Teviot community with the canal—opening up access, supporting local activity, and creating new opportunities for residents. The pontoon is already beginning to shift perceptions, transforming the canal into a welcoming and active part of everyday life. Part of the wider Teviot regeneration programme, which will deliver over 1,750 new homes alongside improved public spaces and amenities, it’s exciting to see projects like this setting the tone for what’s to come. This is just the beginning. #Regeneration #CommunityDesign #NewHomes

Planning permission news incoming for Ebbsfleet Garden City! Ashmere Phase 4 has been granted consent! Designed for Vistry as part of BPTW’s ongoing involvement in the Eastern Quarry masterplan, the approved proposals will deliver 228 new mixed-tenure homes at Ashmere Village. The homes are set within a landscape-led environment, framed by dramatic cliffs and centred on one of Ashmere’s Neighbourhood Greens. The design follows the masterplan principles and is shaped by three distinct urban character areas, reflecting the site’s transformation over time and creating a strong sense of place.   Construction is set to commence in December 2026 and we’re looking forward to seeing the scheme progress on site!   Read more about the project on our website. #architecture #housing #ebbsfleet

Planning permission has been granted for the Chalkhill Estate regeneration in Brent, unanimously approved by the Planning Committee. Chalkhill Estate in Wembley includes a number of outdated garages and underused buildings and sits within one of the 20% most deprived neighbourhoods in England, facing long-standing environmental and social challenges. BPTW has been designing the infill regeneration scheme in close collaboration with Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing (MTVH). The proposals will replace 105 underused garages with 61 new social rented homes, including a mix of 1–4 bedroom houses and apartments, with 25% family-sized homes, delivered across five residential blocks of 3–5 storeys. At Chalkhill, this will result in enhanced landscapes, open spaces and play areas, alongside improved access and wayfinding that significantly enhance this part of the estate. Sustainability sits at the heart of the scheme, achieving a 65% reduction in carbon emissions, alongside biodiversity enhancements and a pedestrian-first, car-free approach for new residents. A significant milestone achieved by our BPTW team – Audrey Remery, Sofia Fidalgo, Viktória Klimentová and George Smith – working closely with the wider project team including Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing, @turkington_martin , @jllresidential , @blackpointdesignltd and @prparchitects **CGI Credit: Black Point Design** #LondonArchitecture #Placemaking #PlanningApproval #EstateRegeneration #bptwprojects

Planning Approved! We are pleased to share that BPTW’s Regina Road scheme has been unanimously recommended for approval by the committee, with positive councillors comments including: “one of the best I have seen”, “pleased to see this fantastic scheme”, and “a test case for good public housing in Croydon”. Designed for Croydon Council and shaped by extensive community engagement, BPTW's design proposals deliver: 🏘️ 225 new homes with detailed consent and up to 115 with outline consent, over 66% for social rent 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 A community hub and pre-school 🌳 A “green heart” with play areas, gardens, and safe, inclusive spaces ✏️ Contextually sensitive architecture inspired by South Norwood’s heritage and character The design has been shaped by the local community and respects local landmarks and conservation areas, drawing on villa and mews typologies, brick detailing, and traditional street patterns to create a place that feels rooted in its surroundings. Additional praise was given to the wider masterplan, housing quality, material palette, and landscaping. We’re excited to move forward with a vision that reflects the voices of the community and sets a new standard for sustainable, inclusive regeneration. We are proud to have sponsored the SEC Annual Conference 2025 and we co-hosted a powerful session with Altair Ltd and calfordseaden on building quality homes for all. It was great to hear insights from housing leaders at Lewisham, Sevenoaks, Medway and our own team at BPTW in our session. We learnt a lot from the talks we attended and connected with professionals holding shared values in delivering better affordable housing outcomes through collaboration, innovation and community-first design. #SEC2025 #HousingInnovation #Architecture #UrbanDesign #affordablehomes #southeastconsortium

How can we embed Passivhaus principles throughout a project lifecycle to shape better buildings? Yesterday, @kindbuilders joined us for an inspiring CPD session, sharing how they’re driving sustainable construction across sectors—from affordable housing to healthcare. Highlights included MMC integration, tackling overheating, and empowering homeowners to get the most from Passivhaus living. Our design for Morse Close, an affordable housing scheme in Newham, was showcased as a Gold-rated Secure by Design success story! #Passivhaus #SustainableDesign #Architecture #AffordableHousing #KindAndCo #BPTW #ConstructionExcellence #GoldenThread #SecureByDesign

New Homes Shaped by the Community The heart of the Teviot Estate regeneration lies in its people. Over 800 residents helped co-design the masterplan through workshops, festivals, and events. With 86% of residents backing the plans, the result is a neighbourhood shaped by real voices, real priorities, and real community spirit. From a new mosque and community centre to canal-side facilities and boat club, every element reflects what matters most to Teviot.
