BCKRDS X SPOTIFY : Mother of Music Durban. Brand Identity & Creative Direction for a Hot Durban takeover. Spotify Mother of Music celebrates & nurtures Hot Durban by spotlighting her youth culture, the bassline of the hoods, & the pulse of local identity. We identified Durban as the hottest place in South Africa to soend winter, making it the natural foundation for our concept. From this, we developed "Hot in DBN"; a bold, hyperlocal visual identity that celebrates Durban's heat, energy and culture. The MOM DBN brand was designed to feel hot, summery and radiant, delivering a dynamic and scalable system with a distinct, ownable visual language. We loved every part of building this with @spotifyafrica @baemeraai and the team that made this possible. BCKRDS X SAMSUNG Brand Identity & Creaive Direction for @samsungsa Preekend Special. By bringing culture & commerce together, we created an engaging experience that ensures that you're going to have a good time, whether you're there for the good deals or good music. We’re nearing the end of our collaborative mix series, and we’re so excited to drop the latest instalment. In 2024, we got to collaborate with our friends at @a11agency on their brand identity. In exchange they dug into their dope catalogue of DJs, producers & artists to curate an electrifying mixtape series. Mix 005 by the one and only @lelowhatsgood is now live! Each contributing artist has created a mix that takes the listener on a sonic journey, and for each mixtape the BCKRDS team created the cover art. BCKRDS X SPOTIFY : Mother of Music Cape Town. Brand Identity & Creative Direction for a super fun Cape Town take over with the dream team. MOM WAS A 4-DAY DISCOVER OF THE AFRICAN RENAISSANCE, SPOTLIGHTING EMERGING SOUNDS AND ART IN THE MOTHER CITY. Our identity was ornate, layered and immersive across every touch point - creating a distinctly vibrant and future forward. We loved making every part of this and are incredibly grateful to @baemeraai @spotifyafrica massive team that pulled this whole world together.
