Closing down Glen Coe to run a Formula One car was never going to be straightforward, and impossible schedules with meant the only option to achieve the shots was to rebuild everything in a full CGI environment in @unrealengine . This also meant shooting Fernando well ahead of the production in the studio, and then rebuilding the car and world around him.

Working on a small personal project —
a fan-made Netflix-style intro for Arc Raiders,
the game that’s about to launch soon.
The process is moving a bit slower than I hoped,
but still steady. Just two more scenes left before the animatic is done.
Then it’s layout, lighting, and render time.
I’m using the animatic not just for blocking —
but to push things as far as possible early on.
Camera work, animation, rhythm — all locked in before Unreal.
Since I’m working solo, this approach keeps everything focused.
No chaos, no noise — just flow.
Also been experimenting with black-and-white shots lately.
Helps me stay focused on light, timing, and emotion.

For this cinematic, we were invited by the super talented director Miles Cable @milescable to celebrate the anniversary of the gaming’s most iconic title.

We developed the characters from scratch, including sculpting, custom texturing, Metahuman and Unreal Engine work, and creating custom digital clothing. Every movement was captured in-house with a professional actor wearing our Xsens suit @movellaent . Special thanks to @sense4motionen

AVA Studio @_archy_zi_ handled character animation, keyframe hands animation, jewelry simulation, and mocap clean-up — making sure every shot felt alive and authentic.

It was a whirlwind of tight deadlines, prop–hand animation challenges, and deep research into PAC-MAN player styles across the decades… but seeing the final piece made it all worth it.

PAC-MAN is nostalgia🕹 It’s one of those cultural icons that instantly takes you back, and bringing that feeling into a cinematic was both a creative challenge and a joy.

For me, the most fun part as an art director and a character designer was diving into the research, from capturing the 80s US vibe to bringing different decades of PAC-MAN players to life.
PAC-MAN holds a special place in my heart as a gamer, and seeing it celebrated in this way was truly special.
