Iâve been wanting to share a little about myself so it is nice to formally meet you!
If youâve seen my Lego builds, it should be no surprise that Iâm a Disney Parks fan and I wanted to provide a bit of background behind the person building these deep cuts and more.
What is your favorite Disney Resort that you have visited?
Rise of the Resistance | AT-AT Hangar
My follow-up post to my Reel so you can see the details at your own pace! Here is my latest build, the AT-AT Hangar from Rise of the Resistance at Disneyland and Disneyâs Hollywood Studios! This is one of my favorite ride moments so was a lot of fun to recreate in Lego.
âš I first rode ROTR December 2019 right after it opened in WDW (I am a SoCal local and couldâve waited a month later at DL, but whatâs the fun in that?) and actually planned the whole trip around its opening.
âš I had done all the research on how to get a boarding group and left our hotel at 4am to be scanned into DHS before 6am to be on our phone to grab a boarding group. đźâđš Needless to say we got one and the rest was history.
âš Back to the build, this is a 24x48 vignette which is normally pretty large for me, but it feels small because the AT-AT (designed by @edge_of_bricks ) takes up so much space. It splits into 3 sections for easy transportation to and from various events I hope to display it at in 2026.
âš The walls are repeating, but uses some neat techniques and jumper plates and brackets to offset everything accordingly.
â Which side do you prefer? My first time I got the AT-AT side which usually would be less popular, but it does get to be the first into most rooms which gives that initial wow factor.
What Iâd give to relive my first time on Rise of the Resistance. đ„č
This is my recreation of the AT-AT Hangar from Rise of the Resistance out of Lego!
đ« It is a 24x48 vignette featuring the prisoner transport as it makes its escape from a Star Destroyer with the help of Finn and the Resistance.
đ« This epic scene is one to be seen to be believed and the sheer scale is something I tried to create with my build making sure the wall was taller than the AT-AT.
đ« The First Order AT-AT is designed by @edge_of_bricks .
I build other attractions out of Lego so if youâre a fan of seeing iconic (and some not so iconic) scenes recreated like this one, check out my profile for more and let me know what you would like to see be made next!
Fantasyland Dark Rides | Disneyland
My theme for this yearâs Disney @habitatchallenge was a tribute to the three original Fantasyland dark rides that opened with the original Disneyland in 1955!
Which is your favorite (ride and/or build)âïž
Each attraction was meant to embody a different mood found in Disney films: Peter Panâs Flight captured the wonder, Mr. Toadâs Wild Ride the zaniness, and Snow Whiteâs Scary Adventures the scary parts.
Thank you to @dontbrickmedown for hosting this yearâs challenge and to all of the participants who entered a build! I loved seeing all of them and this is one of my favorite times of the year in the Lego community! đ«
Finally a little plug, if you want to see and/or build more Disney scenes throughout the year, go check out @eticket_builders ! We will be hosting a Fantasyland challenge in June and hope to see you there!
Snow Whiteâs Scary Adventures | Fantasyland
The last dark ride of Fantasyland for this yearâs Disney @habitatchallenge hosted by @dontbrickmedown is Snow
Whiteâs Scary Adventures!
Here, Snow White is walking up the staircase at the beginning of the ride. When they changed it to Enchanted Wish, sheâs now dancing with the dwarves, but this made for a more obvious habitat in my mind (love corner builds!).
Follow to see all three dark ride habitats together tomorrow and @habitatchallenge for other Disney builds by a wonderful group of builders! đ«
Mr. Toadâs Wild Ride | Fantasyland
Next up for the Disney @habitatchallenge hosted by @dontbrickmedown , we have Mr. Toadâs Wild Ride! This is a very fun and unique ride that Iâm glad still exists (I say that just because in modern Disney Parks, itâs amazing it hasnât been replaced by a modern IP and I definitely am not wishing that upon this).
Todayâs shoutout goes to @spectralbricks for the Mr. Toad minifig inspiration. He has an amazing Mr. Toad build planned for @eticket_builders âs Fantasyland challenge in June, so be sure to check us out there for Disney content year round (a plug for a challenge within a challenge)!
Follow along for the last dark ride tomorrow and @habitatchallenge for more Disney builds! đ«
Peter Panâs Flight | Fantasyland
For this yearâs Disney @habitatchallenge hosted by @dontbrickmedown , I am doing the original Fantasyland dark rides of Disneyland! First up is the iconic Peter Panâs Flight!
This was my favorite ride growing up and is still one I love to experience (when the line hopefully isnât too long).
Depicted in habitat form, this shows Peter Pan steering the Jolly Roger back to London with Wendy, John, and Michael (and an appearance by Tinker Bell)!
Special shoutout to @bricksminifigsanaheim for having a ship wheel in stock. đ«¶
Follow along to see the other two dark rides tomorrow and Saturday and @habitatchallenge for all of the other Disney entries! It will be a magical next few days! đ«
Hereâs an awesome mod by @firefabrik of 77256 Time Machine from Back to the Future aka the Speed Champions Delorean!
The set is already considered nearly perfect by most people, but this upgrade takes it to the next level!
âĄïž Smooth Hood - rebuilt hood to be smooth!
âĄïž Gullwing Doors - too iconic to not have!
âĄïž Flight Mode - instead of swapping parts, this upgrade adds Technic so the wheels can flip down (and back up).
âĄïž 1.21 Gigawatts - inspired by the larger Icons Delorean, a light brick is added to light up the flux capacitor.
Check out @firefabrik âs Rebrickable if you want to buy the instructions to upgrade yours and my regular(-ish) scheduled content will return soon with some more MOCs!
Millennium Falcon: Smugglerâs Run Queue | Star Wars: Galaxyâs Edge
I had been meaning to build the Millennium Falcon Lounge to recreate the queue of Smugglerâs Run, but then I came upon fellow builder @kyle.jannin âs and since it was already perfect in my opinion and for the most part how I think I wouldâve built it, I just bought the instructions for it and called it a day (support fellow builders!).
đ« As with all of my Lego Galaxyâs Edge builds, it is about the tourist aspect, so here are a variety of guests waiting to board and a cast member! From sitting at the hologame table to taking photos inside, this is one of the most immersive queues in my opinion.
đ« I didnât have a lot of the stickers that have come with various Millennium Falcon sets, but it still looks good even without them!
đ« I think the only change I made was removing the chair by the console.
đ« The Mandalorian and Grogu is coming to Smugglerâs Run May 22! Iâm excited to finally see new missions!
It is a great display piece (with even a few play features) and if youâre interested in building it yourself, you can find it over on @kyle.jannin âs Rebrickable!
Happy May the 4th and Iâll see you in the next build! đ«
Restrooms Part 1 | Star Wars: Galaxyâs Edge
đ« Between the Milk Stand and Droid Depot is 1 of 2 restrooms in Galaxyâs Edge.
đ« I chose this section to recreate out of Lego for the ancient lettering above the restrooms as I had been wanting to try out this technique so often seen in other Batuu builds.
đ« When finished and if all goes according to plan, it will be a bustling area of Batuu and will display nicely.
đ« This section is 20x20 plus an 8x20 for the moisture vaporator maypole looking thing.
đ« MISSING: you may notice the moisture vaporator in question is missing along with the bridge connecting it to Droid Depot. The wires will also have more intentionality to them.
đ« Theyâre not included in this progress photo so that you can see Darth Vader and his Imperial stormtroopers walking back to the TIE Echelon after interrogating off world travelers on the whereabouts of Luke Skywalker.
Follow along for more updates and happy May the 4th weekend!
Lego Star Wars: Galaxyâs Edge Build Update Part 1
I havenât done a build series in a while and wanted to bring you along to a short trip to Disneyland (as one does in SoCal) as I talk about my design process!
Every year I take on at least one large Star Wars: Galaxyâs Edge build with last year bringing us the arms shop and First Order Cargo / TIE Echelon and this year, we continue moving along that path to the restroom area between Droid Depot and the Milk Stand.
A bustling little outdoor area with a lot of character, Iâm excited to showcase the first section I built. By the end (hopefully), it will be the exterior of two buildings connected with a bridge, droids and a place for guests to relax in between their journeys.
Follow along to see the build come together and I will see you in the next video!
