I had such an honour directing this video. A juxtaposition of two people travelling through their own worlds and finding each other. ‘Gutters’ is a song about keeping hope and navigating through life’s landscapes and its adversity and struggle. A split screen contrasts Con & Bastien as people and artists, but differences can also mean a same perspective or journey. A nod to their very unique collaboration on their album ‘Songs For Lost Travellers’.
Grateful to the new and old friends that gave their time and energy to help me realise my vision.

Video for @goya.gumbani from the EP ‘When the Past Bloomed’ out now on vinyl.
Centred around the game of penny up, exploring ideas of brotherhood, friendship and the ups and downs of navigating life. Shot mostly in one take. I took inspiration from the bright, saturated colours and composition from the works of Jennifer Packer and Henri Matisse, and of course a nod to the De La Soul record I had as a teenager.

A true honour to have worked on the video for ‘Define Time’ from the ‘Face in the Storm’ EP by @goya.gumbani & @kiina_dd
When Goya spoke about the concept behind this video, it struck me on a personal level. My deep connection to jazz meant that this would be an honest love letter to the Cool Jazz & Hard Bop eras, it’s style, New Wave cinema and the jazz GOATS that shaped history, culture, music and film. Shout out the great Lester Young 🎷

Late post but incredibly honoured to have contributed last summer to such a beautiful and transformative body of work by @akinoladaviesjr set to a live score performance led by @kwake.bass
rituals: unionblack is a collection of short films archiving the everyday rituals that underscore rhythms of black life in the UK. Part ethnographic, part poetic, it celebrates the nuances of the black British experience, framed by the voices and visions of the communities themselves.
The live score performance features @kwake.bass@sampha , @dennisbovell , @mosesboydexodus , @daddydarkrdc , Klein, @tawiahmusic , @mansurbrown , the percussion section of @balimayaproject , Tic & Mica Levi.
Chris Ofili’s ‘Union Black’ flag was flown above Somerset House building dome and Larry Achiampong’s ‘Pan African Flag for the Relic Traveller’s Alliance’ flanked the opposite end of the courtyard.

Last week I embarked on a journey in the highlands with @robpricesound
We hiked and camped close to 100miles across Scotland through all weather and landscapes from lochs, through forests, munroes, valleys and unforgiving climbs. This was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done physically and some days it broke me but I’m so grateful to be reminded of how resilient and strong both my body and mind were.
Give thanks to the mountains, the water, the forests and all beneath your feet !
