Founded in Berlin in 2014, Midgar Records has been devoted to exploring the deep, hypnotic fringes of electronic music. Over the years, the label has gradually moved from its deep-techno foundations toward a more fluid and open sonic language—one that touches ambient, dub, drum & bass and experimental forms, while always guided by a core focus on transformation and emotional narrative.
Artists such as Wata Igarashi, Forest Drive West, Nuel, Von Grall, Polygonia, Priori, Aa Sudd, Tammo Hesselink, OK EG, and Agonis have collectively shaped Midgar’s sonic identity, outlining a decade-long evolution of its sound.
After our last collaboration, the impression Midgar left on us remains vivid.
It isn’t just a label; it feels more like a line that keeps extending inward — a thread running through a world of deep, atmospheric, and experimental sound. Whether in the choices behind each release or in the energy present in Severja’s DJ sets, you sense a music that grows rather than performs: profound, restrained, and quietly expanding.
