Sharing the first piece from my new Substack, OFFScript.
It’s a two-part story about booking Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds on
@oprah in February 2011. From my sickbed, with a 103 fever, and only a week and a half to pull it off.
Helping Carrie and Debbie tell their story on that stage, with all the honesty, humor, and courage it required from both of them, is one of the moments I’m most proud of in 30 years of work. Being trusted with it was a privilege.
Grateful for
@monicachun743 @hellosarahsanderson @angiekzirian @jengkearney who were in it with me at PMK-BNC. (Best team ever.)
And warm gratitude to Suzanne Hayward, the lead producer at Oprah, who has generously agreed to do a 5 Questions Q&A with me on OFFScript this Sunday.

In case you’re wondering, why now? After losing my husband, mother & my good friend Traci in a year and a half timeframe, writing has been my best outlet to navigate through grief.
