“I love it, I’m alive.” Do action sports have a positive impact on veterans and first responders? You better believe it and we had the chance to prove it during Veteran’s Day 2023. We had the chance to host a group of first responders and veterans and show them Moab’s best adventures.
@22jumpsproject has another event coming up on February 3rd. Experienced jumpers are making BASE jumps in order to raise more money for traumatic brain injury research, veteran support, and future retreats. If this is a cause that interests you, please consider donating.

Meet our first jumper for Twin Falls 2026: Andrew Kalinyak. Drew served in the Marine Corps for 25 years and retired as a Master Sergeant. He attended Airborne school in 2010 and started skydiving immediately after. He began BASE jumping in 2019 and moved to Moab after retiring in 2023.
Drew is part of the 22 Jumps Staff and is the primary event photographer for all of our events. He currently shoots action sports and flow arts in Moab, UT.
Drew has a TBI from a poly-trauma BASE jumping accident just a year and a half ago. He is still working through recovery from his accident while also training to complete 22 Jumps, serving as an active member of the Search and Rescue team that saved him, and attending EMT school as well.

On May 23rd, my parachute and I will be attempting to jump and hike out of the snake river canyon 22 times and in doing so, raising money for tbi research and suicide prevention for veterans. Very excited that @juggernaut3500 and I will be the @22jumpsproject athletes this year at the Twin Falls event on Memorial Day weekend.
We will be jumping off the bridge and hiking out of the canyon 22 times in one day. 10,000ft of vertical gain in about 5 miles.
22 Jumps is a nonprofit working to advance traumatic brain injury research and suicide prevention for veterans. Each year, they host a retreat in Moab where veterans experience community and action sports as a way to process and reframe trauma.
To fund this work, they rely on donations and events where BASE jumpers and the community come together to drive support for the mission. 22 jumps is a symbol of the 22 veteran lives lost each day to suicide.
I feel so grateful to get to be a part of this even if those hike outs are going to burrrn!
