First official Bixby BASE Boogie made possible with the hard work and dedication of two BASE crews along with local land owners. Even the California Highway Patrol came out to ensure everything was safe and legal. Zero traffic was obstructed, no passes were tressed, 10 billion tourists and visitors were stoked, and one great memory was made. Special thanks to the California Coastal Commission for protecting public access to these locations. This is the power of communication, mutual respect, and knowing/using the system.

Always nice shipping up to Twin Falls and even better when you get to spend time with old friends and make new ones. It's pretty special getting to see new jumpers start and the seasoned guys progress. Already excited to head up north for some poutine and low pulls in the near future
Congratulations on your FJC to; The Canadian Smasher, Smeagle de Fráncè, and Dylydiddler. Everyone kept their glasses, gear, and teeth. Well done boys!
Love, Big Doug

I get why people want to wingsuit off Chomolungma.
Even with some inefficient shenanigans this flight was almost 4 minutes long. Special thanks to the management for believing in me.

Sorry for the speed up but the video literally wouldn't fit otherwise 😆
Been a minute since I did snow stuff but when CA has the most snow in the West you just stay in your backyard.
Good crew, good snow, good dog, minimal snakes and sharks.

Combining the joy I receive from serving the participants of the @22jumpsproject retreat and joy I experienced during my first Moab BASE jumping sorta-trip took awhile to settle in to. BASE jumping is a fully selfish act but I learned how to articulate the duty I feel with my role volunteering with the risk associated with living my life authentically and making memories with my new family. Letting go of the programming that grayed me out from a lifetime of public service has been much more difficult than I expected but the commitment I made to myself to and help I've received along the way definitely looks like light at the end of a tunnel.
Special thanks to our amazing AV squad @juggernaut3500 and
@devonmclaughlin for taking the time to turn the lens my way.

I realized I liked this jump more for the audio than anything else. It really highlights how supportive and encouraging I've found the BASE family, especially @22jumpsproject members, is and continues to be for me. Even when I'm really hard on myself I regularly get reminded I'm cared for and should be a bit more patient and I feel that is something we could all benefit from internalizing.

Terence Hatton, the captain of FDNY’s elite Rescue Company 1, was nicknamed "Capt. Man-Hatton" for his insistence on learning the borough’s buildings inside and out. It was with this disciplined mindset that he led a group of 10 members of the company up the stairs of the North Tower on the morning of September 11th.
Hatton was described as the “ultimate firefighter.” His best friend and fellow firefighter, Tim Brown, describes his uncompromising commitment to technique that gave him a reputation in the department as straight-laced. “I had so much respect for him, in that he would always, always, always, do the right thing,” said Brown.
This professional drive propelled him through the ranks in the department. As one of the FDNY’s most decorated members, former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani joked, “I think we ran out of medals.”
In addition to the FDNY, Hatton’s great love was his wife, Elizabeth Petrone Hatton who he married in 1998. As Giuliani’s long-term executive assistant, Beth was by the mayor’s side that day when she learned her husband was in the North Tower when it collapsed. The next day, she learned that she was pregnant with their first child. She named the little girl Terri after her father. /fallen-firefighter/terence-s-hatton/

Words cannot express how worth the two years that went into this jump were and how thankful I am to all of the mentors and friends who brought me to this point safely. After hearing and seeing the exit and line at the @skydivesalmonarm Mayhem boogie in 2023 I realized the intent of a BASE career didn't have to be gnarly wingsuit lines in close proximity to terrain or fleeing from building LZs.
What a pure form of the flight we dream of. Quiet. Serene. Full of beauty reflected in both the people who helped me to enjoy this object and the environment itself, generously placed before us. How can one do this and not see a rich tapestry where God, the universe, everyone, and everything in it are connected and woven together.
