Tramhouse invites you to _Home, approximately_ (17–19 April 2026), an exhibition by Yana Khazanovich (@jankhaz ) and naomi hettiarachchige hubert (@naomiamandas ).
Rooted in distinct cultural contexts, their practices come into dialogue with each other and the space, emerging from a shared experience of cultural dissonance, a search for belonging, and the ongoing negotiation of identity.
Set in a former tramhouse, a threshold space where tram drivers once ate, rested, and paused between shifts, the exhibition transforms this site into an intimate and somewhat unsettled home, shaped by memory, longing, guilt and familial histories.

Performance SHHH! Rehearsal | Friday 17th Oct | Doors at 19h | Start at 19.30h
The stage is a sculpture, a vitrine, and a former sign used for Tramhouse 11, a studio and a non-profit space for events and exhibitions at Surinameplein, Amsterdam.
Elliot Charrua, aido wall, and Meis Vranken develop a performance around that same stage. Stepping onto it together, for the first time and, maybe, the last as they are about to… SHHHHHH!
If it’s a breakup, can it be rehearsed? And preferably, in the most inconvenient setting possible? Dialogues would be easier if written by the book, but instead, they read poems to each other about all the things that lie beneath their shared stage.
We welcome you to… SHHH, rehearsal!
Image source: Detail made of paracetamol, for the sculpture “Ready, set, stage!” by Luca Fedele, now on view at @woonhuis.deateliers and part of the exhibiton Formula 1. The exhibition is open until 01.11.2025, every Thursday-Saturday from 13:00-18:00.
Formula 1 is curated by @aiganymmt , @iirisriihimaki , @the_oscarmorel , @tobiasgrann , @silkyroad006 and @y.feifeifei
The performance is part of the public program in connection to the exhibition.
“In Response To” is a collaboration of June Ohashi and Jil Kunkat, a first coming together and putting-out of ideas that have long been written, drawn and talked about, slowly taking shape through the exchange of letters, notes and gifts.
A package on its way,
A letter lost,
A gift in return,
A note to respond.
Spinning until sick, taking things back and finally materializing it for the Tramhouse.
The windows for the show open on Thursday September 11th at 18:00,
with a small screening at 19:00.
Excited to share,
Yours June and Jil

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of joining some very talented and fun artists to create a site-specific artwork in an inoperative tramhouse.
If you spend enough time in a liminal space, you start to see things differently.
As a child, one of my favorite ways to pass the time was climbing onto the back of the couch to stare out the window. I could do this for hours until I’d begin to see the seasons change before my eyes.
This habit continues to guide my artistic practice. I love to stare at faces and places.
"Cornern" (verb) in German slang means passing time in public spaces, from street corners to tram stops. People often get irritated by this seemingly passive, leisurely activity. What they don’t realize is that sometimes, for some of us, there is simply nowhere else to be.
What I’ve come to realize from sitting in @11tram staring at the CCTV live transmission for about a week, is that if you look at something long enough, you might discover that the very thing you were searching for doesn’t actually exist. As corny as that might sound, it gets worse—we find ourselves caught in the race of life, forgetting to pause and embrace magical realism.
Go experience it for yourself. @11tram regularly opens its doors for good art and slightly less good wine.
