We’re pleased to share that our Kita “Little World Explorers” in Niddatal, Germany has been recognized as a finalist in the Kindergarten category of this year's Architizer A+ Awards. Shaped by the perspective of its youngest users, the project transforms everyday childcare into an experience of nature and community. A low, one-story plan organizes the building around a protected garden, with each room opening directly outside and daylight drawn deep into the interiors. The result is a setting that supports curiosity and independence from the earliest years. To Vote: (Links in Bio) Photography: @fotografiejeanlucvalentin

From Founding Principal David Piscuskas: I’m pleased to share that 1100 Architect has been named a finalist in this year’s Architizer A+ Awards, Best in Craft Firm. This recognition is especially meaningful to us. Our work has always been grounded in design clarity, careful attention to how materials are sourced and perform over time, and a strong commitment to building well. Across residential, cultural, and civic projects, attentiveness to craft as an expression of the purpose and life of a building, remains central to our practice. Public voting is now open through May 15. If you have a moment, we would appreciate your support. (Links is in bio) #nycarchitect #architizer #contemporaryarchitecture #designdaily #nyc

Minimal and white by design. The entry, defined by curved walls and concealed lighting, sets up a more open interior. From dark and divided to a space that feels lighter the moment you walk in. Photography: @nikolaskoenig #loftliving #residentialdesign #nycinteriors #minimalism

Metro Pictures, 2016. We were honored to work with Janelle Reiring and Helene Winer on the renovation of their gallery. Though the gallery closed in 2021 after more than four decades, its impact on the art world—and on us—still holds. Photography: @jamesewingphoto #gallerydesign #galleryrenovation #nycarchitect #minimalism #artspace

What began as three separate prewar apartments is now a single, minimalist triplex where every detail was was worked through closely with the client. White does most of the work here, with concealed lighting and custom millwork supporting it. Completed years ago, it still feels timeless. Photography: @mmoranphoto #Architecture #Interiordesign #NYCinteriors #minimalistdesign #Modernminimalism

The Irish Hunger Memorial. Set on a base of Irish limestone and illuminated glass, the project re-creates a rugged landscape to commemorate the Great Irish Hunger and its connection to global food insecurity today. A passageway leads from the city to the ruins of a famine-era cottage, lifted above the street with a quiet view beyond the city. Photography: @peteraaron #irishhungermemorial #nycarchitect #publicarchitecture #batteryparkcity

Not just a pavilion. Part of PlaNYC’s push to rethink park infrastructure, this building brings together athletic storage, public restrooms, staff offices, a maintenance work area, and vehicle storage—and somehow turns all of that into one clear, confident design. Photography: @Tycole #calvertvauxpark #publicarchitecture #urbandesign #nycparks #parkdesign

Set back from the dunes, because you don’t need to be front row to have the best seat. This cedar-clad home in Cape Cod turned out to be a bit of a show off at sunset. Photography: @peteraaron #coastalhome #beachhouse #capecodhome #customhomes

A closer look at the exterior of House on Sag Harbor. The timber rainscreen wraps walls and roof in one clean, continuous surface, with all the technical detailing quietly tucked out of sight. What reads as simple is anything but. Client: @kellyaklein Cladding: @abodowood by @resawntimberco Construction: @lettieri_construction #FacadeDesign #ModernExterior #CustomHomes

Fluted ivory limestone, honed to a soft matte, is inset with fine brass. A close look at a custom room divider, deceptively simple, but the result of amazing craftsmanship. We’re always looking for moments like this to bring a level of detail that makes each project feel special. Fabrication: Riverside Builders Photography: 1100 Architect #architecturaldetail #materiality #designcraft #customdesign
