Taylor Street, Photographed by @peteraaron
San Francisco, California, 1982
“On the way to an architectural photography assignment, I saw an astounding sight: the facade of a residential building being painted in the style of an abstract expressionist artwork. I pulled out my 4×5 view camera from the trunk of my car and made several black and white pictures. I later learned that the building was being waterproofed with tar, but the graphic, abstract, and surrealist nature of this picture makes it one of my favorite images.”

From Science Hill, students see the @yalepeabodymuseum ’s new glass tower rising above the campus — its form a modern interpretation of the original tower’s iconic spires. The design reflects the museum’s historic presence, connecting past, present, and future.
