I’m still reeling from our trip to Haines earlier this month. It was such a huge learning experience. Everything is bigger than it looks, most of it is blind, didn’t really get to scope most lines so a huge amount of trust is put into your guide and friends directing you down your line. We scored in so many way though. The weather was great with lots of cold cold snow and sun. Our crew was on point. @alaskaheliskiing treated us so well, they felt like family by the end. We built trust and slowly worked our way to bigger and bigger terrain and I cannot thank our guide @klondike.ike enough for showing us the way through it all. I don’t feel like I rode many lines super smoothly but I feel like I now have a foundation and can’t wait to get back up there and build upon it. This one felt pretty good though, navigating with a lil radio guidance.

They said film days get long. Zoe said: watch me flow through it. They don’t call her @zoefloweee for nothing…she flows, she charges, and she flows…. #researchanddevelopment #rndsnowboarding #fullcharge 🎥🗻 @gregweavervideo / Portrait: @andrew_miller

My mom! She's funny, vibrant, creative, intelligent, silly, musical, spiritual, unique. She was also recently diagnosed with cancer. I'm astounded at her positive and humorous attitude through this difficult time. I started a GoFundMe to help with her treatment costs. If you would consider donating or at least sharing, everything helps so much. Thanks for your love, support and healing thoughts 💖 GoFundMe link in my bio

@rndsearch looked a little different for me this year. After competing the last two years, this year I was on the other side of the curtain helping however I could to make the event happen. It was a very eye opening experience to see how much work goes into putting this event on. Thanks for having me @robinvangyn and kudos to another successful year. The girls just keep going harder, bigger and gnarlier every year and it's so incredible to witness, proud of each and every one of you. Thank you @whitewatermountainresort @arcteryx @yeti and all the other brands whose financial and material support make RnD a reality. And huge thank you to all the people behind the scenes who put in long hours day after day for these women to have the platform they deserve ✨ 📸 @agaiwanicka @erinhogue @miraecampbell 🫶

As I sit at home waiting out a long dry spell in the PNW, I've been digging through hard drives and found some forgotten clips from our first trip to Haines in 2021. Story time: A motley crew of Baker locals had dreams of big Alaska lines but quickly realized that without a budget, film crew or notoriety, the guides weren't going to put you on the steeps. We began bitching about being stuck on "client runs" and after bumping into lead guide @klondike.ike at the bar, he decided to see what we were made of. After a day of making sure we weren't total idiots he dropped us off on Caffeine and said, "see you at the bottom". Our eyes grew wide as he flew off with the heli and we hiked to the top of our first serious Alaska line. We were stoked and a little nervous. The snow was amazing and stable. There were no competing crews out (one perk to COVID times) and we got a few laps on this classic. This line still stands out in my mind. Not because it was that gnarly but because it was the first sip of an unquenchable thirst to ride the big, epic lines Alaska is famous for. Hoping to many more in the future. It's been a few years since I've made it back to Haines but remembering this amazing trip has got me frothing for more. Drone shot @kooshpow at @alaskaheliskiing

“RnD is one of the most special and unique events in snowboarding right now. It’s so much more than a contest. Getting to rip around with all these dedicated snowboarders from different aspects of the sport, everyone just rooting each other on feels so good. What @robinvangyn and her team have created feels like a cultural shift for women in snowboarding. It’s a comp, but feels like a team effort too. We’re inspired by each other, stoked for each other’s success, are having a blast, there’s a healthy dose of competitiveness in there too. I feel really lucky to have been a part of RnD. The awards party is pretty epic too.” — @zoefloweee 📷 @andrew_miller / @chadchomlack / @miraecampbell / @colin_wise_man
