I’ve been lucky that since I started out in wine a few years ago I had and still have great support and mentorship from women in wine. Wine is such a wonderful job that constantly keeps us engaged and offers incredible opportunities. I am proud to be a part of it and to see so many women keep chalking the status quo despite being undermined, underestimated, or overlooked on the basis of their gender. Though it has progressed and we’ve witnessed more diversity in a variety of roles across wine and senior leadership, it’s important to think about how we can all help and contribute to making the wine industry a more diverse, safe and inclusive environment where those opportunities are accessible to all, so they may also experience the joys of wine and feel valued within it.
As reflected in
@queenadwong The UK Women in Wine Survey 2023, initiated by Curious Vines, we saw flagged that discrimination, sexism and harassment are still key issues that women face in the wine industry.
@queenadwong ,
@effiwine and
@skinandpulp have coordinated this great #accelerateaction campaign to offer ways to raise awareness of real issues faced and share information about what we can do to change things for the better.
