If you’re lucky enough to be in Bruges tonight or Ghent tomorrow don’t miss it. Almost a week ago now but pics still coming in from the riotous @65mikesmith birthday shindig at @100clublondon He managed to persuade, er ‘seasoned’ bands Mambo Square and Mrs Mills’ Party from Manchester Uni days to combine and form supergroup Mrs Mills Squared to play a selection of faves including #psychokiller and #aforest as well as back the legendary @lennybeige . I hadn’t played on stage since the 1890s and was amazed how familiar it all felt. And birthday boy Michael came on stage to sing my old tune, Bad Time In Heaven at the end! Of the good things which happened over summer, by far and away the best was Eric. He lived in the adjacent barn to where we were staying in #widemouthbay Cornwall and was always on trotter to brighten up the day. #mrpigstuff
What a treat to interview drumming hero @budgie646 in front of a packed house @elysiumswansea . We covered only a fraction of the life he describes so elegantly in hot-off-the-press autobiography, The Absence, so not too many @siouxsieandthebanshees or @thelegendaryslits plot-spoilers. Don’t think I’ve ever met a more personable pop star. Huge thanks to organisers @covertocoveruk as well as @whiterabbitbks but the biggest cheer goes to @hue_who who once again showed me the best of Swansea including legendary 1950s coffee bar @kardomahcafe . #tidy
