We must be dreaming… Constant Follower’s TSYSORTY is still at or near the top of several UK Album Charts. Thank you everyone who has bought the album so far - every sale is a step towards us being able to make the next album.
Release day is here. The Smile You Send Out Returns To You is out now.
I think we’ve made a beautiful album - of that, I’m almost sure. And I can get away with saying that because it’s not just about my, or the band’s work. This album is as much about the artwork as the music— @heathernevay ’s stunning cover is, to me, half the artistic offering. @timothyodonnell_design pulled it all together and @thrownlight brought it to life. @dandysounds production and mixing shaped the feeling of it. @aquarianrenegade , @marktranmer and Jimmy Chadwin for the magic. Huge thanks to the filmmakers, to Ian, Julia & Izzy & Colin (@lnfglasgow ), David & Dominique (@seabassvinyl ), Jamie & Alan (@creativescots ), Westley & Becci @prsfoundation , Taz and all at @helpmusicians , @carolgreenwoodart & Ronnie, @willie.mackie , Evan Henderson, and everyone who supported us in making and releasing the album. And, most of all, thank you to you and all the listeners who find something in our music and make it all worthwhile.

The cull of anything remotely popular or culturally significant on BBC Radio Scotland continues.
To our horror Nicola Meighan, alongside fellow (actual artists) Len Pennie and Michelle McManus, was cancelled on Thursday while I was speaking to a room full of emerging musicians and industry at Cambridge ARU about the very subject.
My talk was “What Now?” - what do artists do now that traditional means of joining the music career pipeline are being severed.
Where do young artists go? Where does Scottish cultural programming go, as everything good about our National Broadcaster is stripped out and replaced with shows you can find on every other commercial station at any time of night or day?
When we lose someone like Nicola Meighan - someone who is embedded in the music scene, someone who came up through record labels, someone who can speak with authority on our Culture... well, it's just a disaster for our cultural context overall. It's people like Nicola and the others we've lost who knit Scotland's cultural story together - past into present. Irreplaceable. What a loss.
Followers’ Dispatch 2601 is ready. Our old-school mailing list - real stuff to your door. Still time to join in.

The Spring Dispatch is packed. Postcards, letters, stickers, the odd wee thing, all going out to subscribers this Friday. It's not too late to join them. Join link in bio. Free tier available.
Paid folk also get into a secret corner of the new website where they'll find an unreleased song that isn't anywhere else; as well as demos from the writing of the first record, notes from the studio, and an acoustic demo of a song from the new album.
We're fed-up with the disconnect. Four times a year, real things in the post. Our old-school postal club.
If you fancy it, link's in bio.
Free-list folk, you can upgrade from there too.
More soon.

This just arrived from Larrivée Guitars. A customised Baker-T Classic with Matthew Larrivée’s own pick-up design. Hard to overstate how good these guitars are.
Gave it a proper run-through recently while we were working on something with James (The Orchids) and Ian (Montjuic). It sounds exactly as it looks.
Grateful to Jr and the whole team at Larrivée for their continued support, and for carrying forward what Jean built.
It's Bandcamp Friday! That one day of the month where bandcamp waive their fees and every penny of your support comes to us. A great day to support the bands you enjoy to keep making music.
Screenprinted in shimmering gold by Glasgow's Tshirt Cat, our Merry Dancers tees are from an original linocut print by our friend Graham Park. His imagining of the Northern Lights (the Merry Dancers) on TV.
Plus brand new corduroy caps in stock!
Thanks for your support - the music's happening because of it.
