I simply cannot remain silent anymore. I have friends, family, and acquaintances who are liberal, conservative, religious, agnostic, you name it. My beliefs are deeply rooted in treating all people with respect and kindness, regardless of their color, or where they came from, sexual orientation, their level of privilege and education, or any of the other reasons that many people find as excuses to be hateful.
Last week, when I pulled fabric for this class I signed up for at Road to California, I was inspired by the Buddhist monks walking for peace. The beautiful tones of oranges, reds, and golds in the sunlight as they spread their message of peace, love, non violence, community, and tolerance. Then another tragedy happened in Minneapolis at the hands of our corrupt government. I will not listen to any justification for the shooting of Alex Pretti, Renee Good, the deportations of immigrants without due process, the separation of children from their families, the active suppression of women, and the list goes on. If you even slightly believe that any of these things are justified, I have absolutely nothing to say to you. We have nothing in common, and you can excuse yourself from my life. I know I am going to lose some people with this statement, and I am okay with that. Our world is literally burning down around us. We are being lied to, and being told not to believe our own eyes. I will not stand by quietly any longer.
“Traffic Circle” 24 x 24” Improv pieced
I squeezed in one last finish for April. I took a zoom class with @cindygrisdelaquilts and the @sdmetromodernquiltguild during the pandemic. I have lost track of how many years ago that was. My blocks sat and sat because I was planning to make a bigger quilt, but I decided to go ahead and make the blocks I had finished into a mini. I would love to make another quilt with this technique on a bigger scale. I took inspiration from @leahdayquilting and doodled to my heart’s content for the quilting. Scroll through to see my thread lineup.
Long Beach locals will know all about the traffic circle. It looks different every time you go through it, and you just hope you make it out alive.
I am so excited to be traveling to San Diego tomorrow, where I be doing a trunk show for the @sdmetromodernquiltguild ! That will be followed in a couple of weeks with a workshop for the Lucy quilt from @gedesignsgudrun , and I get to share all things Stripology. Yay!
Hello, May!
These blocks are from @quiltinaday ’s Underground Railroad book. The @seashorequiltersguild is doing this for their 2026 block of the month.
This is the first time that I have put my City Streets Sampler blocks together up on my design wall. I am excited about where this is heading! I have a lot more blocks to make. I am using an FQ bundle from back in the old days when @therealcraftsy used to sell fabric, and some solids from my stash.
The #citystreetssampler pattern is coming soon from @tiedwitharibbon 💕
It’s been a while since I’ve had a chance to work on my City Streets Sampler blocks. I skipped ahead and made Block 5. I’ll get to Block 4 soon. The #citystreetssampler pattern is from @tiedwitharibbon , and is coming soon!

Jumbo-laya Block 2, Breaux Bridge. This is a quilt-along with @gedesignsgudrun , and there will be a total of nine super sized 32” blocks. I am using @mr.bones_sews fabric for my blocks.

“Skipping Stones” 60 x 75”
This is my latest #lucyquilt finish. Free-motion quilted on my B770qp with @aurifilthread in Medium Mint. I taught a guild workshop this week on this pattern, and I will be teaching it again in May at @sdmetromodernquiltguild , and I can’t wait! This pattern is so versatile, with several layout options.
The pattern is from the amazing @gedesignsgudrun , and uses the Stripology rulers, my favorite tools.

I finished my Saga table runner. Twelve of the full-size Saga blocks make a 16 x 48” runner. I used fabric from @figtreeandco that came in a past @sewsamplerbox , and quilted it with @aurifilthread . The Saga pattern is from @gedesignsgudrun , and I will be teaching this workshop at the Los Angeles Quilters Guild in June.

Hello, April!
What we have here is design wall chaos. I have some guild workshops coming up, and I have been very busy making table runner samples for the guilds to show to their members. On the wall is a Saga table runner, which I will be teaching in June. I love sharing the wonders of the Stripology rulers and patterns!
The #sagaquilt pattern is from @gedesignsgudrun
Today is pattern release day for @tiedwitharibbon ’s Harlequin quilt! This is a fun and easy equilateral triangle quilt. It uses two sizes of triangles, and the magic is in the layout and color placement.
I made the baby size, which measures 37 x 48”. When I have a minute, I will quilt and bind this cutie. I love this dynamic design from Jemima!
