Housing Works fights for funding and legislature to ensure access to quality housing, healthcare, HIV prevention information, life-sustaining services, and legal protections from stigma and discrimination for people living with HIV/AIDS. During the pandemic, they have opened up emergency COVID shelters for people experiencing homelessness, provided free COVID testing and emergency care, as well as created a mobile vaccination team. 🚐💉 Housing Works needs our help to keep providing these services and more. Once again I am riding in the Braking AIDS Ride and raising money for @housingworks ! ❤️‍🔥 If you followed my journey getting ready for @brakingaids Ride 2019, you know that Housing Work’s missions are ending the AIDS and homelessness crises in New York. RAFFLE!! I am raffling off these two flags to support @glits_inc and @doroshow secure safe & permanent housing for black trans people released from Rikers! Update!: as of Thursday 06/17, over $400 was raised for GLITS! From Thursday until the close of the raffle on Saturday 06/19, all proceeds will go to @forthegworls to support a black transgender woman having surgery! “Rally and protect” was a flag I made in 2016 to carry at protests, and “the matter of damage/survival” was a flag I made in 2016 as a baby trans thinking about what it takes to survive in this world. I DID IT! I am one giant sore muscle but I rode every single one of the 300 miles from Cooperstown to New York City last weekend with Braking AIDS Ride! JUST AS SHOCKINGLY, I am a mere $274 from my fundraising goal of $4,000! That’s a lot of money doing a lot of good with @housingworks towards ending the AIDS epidemic in New York!
