Henrique Nardi (@tipocracia_ ) é educador especializado em tipografia, impressor e designer gráfico. Fundador do Tipocracia, desde 2003 atua na promoção da cultura tipográfica no Brasil por meio de cursos, projetos e encontros.
Organizou e apresentou diversas conferências sobre tipografia e design, como DiaTipos, TPC10 e ATypI São Paulo, além de ter lecionado em programas de pós-graduação do Senac e em universidades nos Estados Unidos, como Wisconsin e Augusta.
No DiaTipo Belém, compartilha sua experiência na difusão e no ensino da tipografia.

Re: @designmuseumchi CHICAGO-The Design Museum of Chicago, in collaboration with the University of Illinois Chicago, is excited to present A2Z: Learning through LEGO® and Letterforms exhibition from Oct 15, 2025 to January 11, 2026. The exhibition highlights the relationship between LEGO® bricks and typography through letterpress printing, exploring key questions in design pedagogy through a hands-on approach. It focuses on systematic thinking and collaborative practice in typographic design.
One of the best parts of this project was all the people that we met along the way, and having the opportunity of sharing some moments together, connected by a deep appreciation for typography. If you recently engaged with @atypi_org or @typecon and their conferences, you most likely have been photographed by @tipocracia_ , the mastermind behind this beautiful "Y":
"My Big Y draws inspiration from an Egyptian Expanded Bold wood type, straight from Alan Kitching’s A–Z book. Its 45-degree diagonal lines were a perfect match for Lego building blocks. While experimenting with overprint ideas, I saw an opportunity to give the Big Y its three-dimensional qualities.
Then came the arrow-shaped counter—it took on a life of its own, inviting its buddies into the conversation. The result? A playful nod to the simplicity of Brazilian multimedia artist and illustrator Guto Lacaz.
Is that a mouth or a mustache? We may never know."

Henrique Nardi is a typography educator, photographer, and graphic designer from São Paulo. He founded Tipocracia, an educational project designed to promote typographic culture in Brazil. He has organized and hosted over a dozen conferences on type and design. Furthermore, he created Brazil’s first postgraduate program in Typography.
Henrique taught Graphic, Editorial, and Typeface Design for seven years at the University of Wisconsin. Currently, he serves as the Communication Coordinator for the Tipos Latinos Brasil Committee and works as Assistant Professor of Graphic Design at Augusta University.
