Early on I believed that if we had any chance of differentiating @theaudiosalon from our competitors around the globe we would have to risk time and effort in developing our customers’ trust by collaborating with them on paths to solving their problems. We have never limited the resources we expend to their listening rooms-of course we have helped many find the rarest records, test pressings and collections but every organization can do that. In the decades since we started there are countless stories-from helping to find the right car or lease to sourcing an invaluable piano to impossible restaurant reservations to finding a sold out camera to international logistics for priceless art and moving other items unassociated with Hifi to complete travel arrangements to introductions into closed circles to finding doctors, treatment and medications in foreign lands and even an extraction from a war zone. We are committed to continue developing our Hifi skills but also to expanding our resources with a pride in being useful to our customers. “Extravagant” in-home demonstrations may be our favorite part of investing our resources @theaudiosalon . In this case a longtime customer wanted to explore the idea of developing a listening space in an upstairs bedroom back in 2018. An acoustician was brought in before this to do “a study” of sound transmission to the surrounding bedrooms of the client’s school age children. The ultimate test was to do what we felt compelled to do-light up the room with the energy of the very system we planned to install. It’s worth noting that this particular project did not proceed but our client relationship only grew stronger. If a customer is willing to risk their time-we will always risk our effort before any money changes hands. We’re not a big store trying to serve the entire market. Our business model is to simply grow each and every year by meeting just a very few additional super passionate enthusiasts who are looking to join us in investing in a relationship. A few years ago we move this entire system, 19 pallets worth!, from California to Texas. It’s fascinating to hear the identical system in two completely different rooms. This system literally has tons of our favorite brands. Even though we’re a few hours flight instead of a few hours drive away I’m pleased to say we still get to see each other multiple times a year. For us it always starts with: “Is this someone we think we could make happy?” After more than a decade we can confidently say we continue to run the marathon towards this customer’s happiness and for us it’s been a rewarding journey. Last week we visited our customer in Dallas to do several routine maintenance procedures. In this case we were checking and recalibrating the bias on his @ypsilonelectronics Aelius 2 amplifiers which power his @wilson.audio Subsonic Subwoofers. Even though they’ve been trouble free over the past 7 years it never hurts to check. Our technician was trained in Greece by the Ypsilon Team so that we could be self sufficient in servicing our customers in the US.
