❌CLOSED❌AD | A couple of weeks ago, Kris and I celebrated our 4 year wedding anniversary in the picturesque Pitlochry. It’s a beautiful place to take things slowly and reconnect with Scotland. We stayed at @craigatin.house - a beautiful Bed & Breakfast in the town. Our room was excellent - super-comfy bed, a lovely wee window seat for the people-watchers and a stocked, complimentary mini-bar. Love that for us! It was so convenient for walking into Pitlochry and back. Loved the communal@area , where you can help yourself to a wee dram if you fancy. Craigatin House have been super-generous and are offering my followers the chance to experience a two-night stay at this trendy B&B. See below for rules and terms! TO ENTER THE GIVEAWAY ❤️ Like this post ➕Follow @yourscottishguide and @craigatin.house 🏷️ Spread the word by tagging a mate (multiple entries all good) This giveaway is not affiliated with Meta. Please note this is an ADULT ONLY accommodation. Entrants must be 18+ Winner chosen on Wednesday 13th May. You will be contacted by @yourscottishguide ONLY if you have won, be vigilant of scams. Let’s try the new Seafood Shack Menu at @dulse_leith [ad] 📍102 Constitution Street, Leith This restaurant in Leith is pioneering fresh local seafood in a premium restaurant setting and is the creation of @chefdeanbanks - its aim is to celebrate seafood in an innovative and modern way. The new shack menu has some delicious offerings, with my absolute favourite being those Arbroath Smokey croquettes. The fish flavour is subtle yet unmistakeable and the rich cheesy cream on top is pure luxury. The cod Kiev with the Goan curry was warming, hearty and showcased the versatile fish really well. They also have a fish of the day dish, which comes with a sensational champagne sauce but I unfortunately don’t get a shot of this 🫣 If you are a lover of all things seafood then this is a wonderful place to explore more! #seafoodrestaurant #edinburghfood #edinburghfoodie #leithedinburgh #edinburghrestaurant

Have you tried the tiramisu porridge at @_dispositionstore yet? As soon as unheard about this Edinburgh-based new breakfast item I know I knew I had to try it! You’ll find Disposition in Roseburn, and it’s a coffee shop as well as a workshop@where you can make your own terrariums! Not only is the coffee great, but they serve really excellent food too. The tiramisu porridge contains OATLY crème fraiche as well as dark and white chocolate. Whilst you might think this all sounds quite sweet, the cacao nibs on top provide a crunchy and bitter balance. Not to mention it is served nice and HOT. Didn’t think it was served in a dog bowl for a hot minute? Yes, I absolutely did - but I’ve eaten out of worse 😂 Don’t forget to check out the little pantry of goods they have for sale before you leave! #edinburghcoffeelovers #edinburghcoffee #tiramisu #edinburghfoodie #exploreedinburgh

Is EDINBURGH CASTLE worth paying a visit? Let’s take a tour to this top tourist attraction in Scotland’s capital [AD/affiliate] Edinburgh Castle attracts over 1.9 million visitors each year, and last weekend I booked a ticket to become a tourist in my own city. I decided to book a guided tour, and found the perfect experience with @scotlandcitytours using the @getyourguide app! Lasting around 90 minutes, we were guided round the castle grounds and learned about its rich history - stretching back to 100AD or even earlier! After this, you are free to roam the castle in your own time. I would recommend booking for lunch time as you have a chance to see “the one o’clock gun” being fired at 1pm @edinburghcastle 🎫 If you would like to experience this for yourself, you can use the link in my bio to download the Get YourGuide app - make sure to use the code YOURSCOTTISHGUIDE5 for money off your first booking with GetYourGuide! #edinburgh #edinburghcastle #visitscotland #scottishhistory #exploreedinburgh

West Lothian’s answer to Greyfriars Bobby? Let me tell you the story of Dudley the cat! 🐈 Linlithgow is a beautiful ancient town based in West Lothian, where you can discover many historic artefacts. With a sprawling loch and a medieval palace - once home to Mary Queen of Scots. The most recent marvel to be added is a bronze statue of a cat named Dudley. Erected in 2018 as part of a project by @burghbeautifullinlithgow - a statue that will be a lasting remembrance to their founding member and community champion, Liz Burrows. Liz and her cat Dudley lived by the canal. Dudley was known to be a very friendly, idly cat who would approach passers-by for a stroke on the chin. Liz loved her community so much, that when she passed in 2012 she left a generous legacy to Burgh Beautiful to improve the district. Due to Liz’ love of the arts, as well as her love for her home at Linlithgow’s canal basin, the money that was left over was used to commission a bronze statue of her beloved cat - Dudley. So loved was Dudley and Liz that the community crowdfunded to pay the remaining costs for the statue. It was completed and unveiled in September 2018. #westlothian #linlithgow #dudleythecat #visitscotland

JOIN THE MARGARITA MILE CLUB 🍸 @crave_loyalty Okay guys, I’m a big fan of scavenger hunts and this one was right up my street as it also involved some of Edinburghs most delicious cocktails in some of Edinburghs most amazing venues! This is a mile long trail where you follow a map to try out a new margarita at every stop. After each venue, get a stamp at the bar before moving on. If you collect all the stamps then you can get some freebies at the end. Take it easy and complete it at your own pace or do it all in one night - it’s up to you! Venues include @huxley.edinburgh @badger.co @copper_blossom @boozycow_edin and @the_basement_ed - you can do it in whatever order you like but my recommendation is finishing at Basement to claim your champions guacamole 🥑 Check out @theferryfoodie and @edinburghfoodcourt POVs of our night on their channels too 😘 This is an 18+ event and please drink responsibly 🥰 #edinburghnightlife #edinburghlife #exploreedinburgh #margaritas #margaritamile

Something MASSIVE has arrived in Edinburgh at @nationalmuseumsscotland 😱 There is a new exhibit at Edinburgh’s National Museum where you can see some of natures biggest creatures that existed millions of years ago! Ever wanted to see a gigantic 15 METRE SNAKE 🐍, look right into the jaws of a MEGALODON 🦈 or walk under the tusks of a MAMMOTH 🦣 then this exhibit is for you! You will even get a chance to see their fossilised bones 🦴 This new exhibit would be excellent for families with young adventurers or even for couples looking for a date day with a difference! There are so many different ways to learn; with visual aids you can touch, read and listen to! What giant are you exited to see? Let me know 👇 #visitedinburgh #exploreedinburgh #edinburghcity #familyactivities #weekendactivities

A special evening at @abacus_restaurant 🧮 Introducing Abacus, a new restaurant from @thescholaredinburgh offering a fusion of Scottish and Mediterranean cuisine. It’s designed for easy, all-day dining and classy crafted cocktails. With beautiful cosy corners that feel like you’re in a luxury living room, this is a restaurant you could really settle into time-after-time. I’ve already said before that the restaurants by this group are Edinburghs biggest hidden gem! Always absolutely adore dining and drinking at their venues. This one is no exception! During the launch we were joined by Heather at @purplepoetryy who made bespoke poems for all guests 💕 Thanks to @edible_in_edinburgh for having me as her guest! 🥰 #edinburghrestaurant #hiddengemsscotland #finediningrestaurant #edinburghfoodie

My FAVOURITE places to find a sweet treat in EDINBURGH! 2️⃣ Part 2 - The delicious donuts at @roomrumourscoffee You’ll find these treats just a few minutes walk from Edinburgh’s Waverley train station as well as some very delicious cinnamon buns and other bakes. If you’re a coffee lover, Room & Rumours has some great selection of coffees to experiment with and explore your tastebuds with too! They class themselves as a “donutterie” which I now think is fabulous! 📍 Arch 13, 23 East Market Street, Edinburgh #edinburghfood #edinburghfoodie #edinburghcoffee #exploreedinburgh #visitedinburgh

My favourite EDINBURGH SWEET TREATS from small business owners that you should try ✨ 1️⃣ Homemade Tiramisu from @calacalafood Cala Cala are already fairly well known for making some fantastic homemade arancini but their tiramisu for me is top-tier. With kashings of cream, aroma of bitter coffee and the warmth of a little boozy taste (but it is alcohol free). Pls do try it but leave enough for me 😅 #edinburghsmallbusiness #edinburghfood #edinburghfoodie #tiramisù #edinburghcity

I’M GOING VEGAN for one day to see if it will help me make small lifestyle changes. 🌱💚 In this mini-series, I discover if I can swap out my usual dairy and meat containing ingredient for a vegan alternative. Now it’s time for dinner! For me, the best place for a quick dinner on a cold evening that won’t break the bank is @makiramen - fresh, homemade ingredients that always deliver on taste. My usual order here is the Hell Ramen with the char siu, but I’ve switched this to the vegan hell ramen with vegan “bacon”. I would also usually order the spicy teriyaki karaage so I’ve replaced this with the spicy teriyaki @tofoo bites 💚 I must admit, I was expecting the difference in flavour to be really noticeable here but I can’t lie - it was absolutely the same. The broth was still spicy, umami and delicious. The noodles still had that classic al-dente chewiness. In regards to the pork - wow, this kind of changed my perspective - I REALLY loved the flavour. The tofu bites were crunchy, perhaps crunchier than karaage and they held the flavour of the teriyaki superbly!! I would absolutely consider just ordering from Maki & Ramen’s vegan menu in future! PSA - also great if you’re looking for halal food, many of their dishes are halal ♥️ #veganedinburgh #veganfoodies #scottishvegan #plantbasedeating #veganramen
