RHYTHM: A SHORT DOCUMENTARY (TEASER) We have officially launched our fundraising campaign on Seed & Spark for our short documentary, Rhythm, directed by @yourpalasher Rhythm is a story about legacy, reinvention, and the lasting impact of mentorship. Drum teacher Floyd Kennedy has spent over 40 years building a music program at Natomas High School in Sacramento that became more than just a class—it became a catalyst in transforming the lives of thousands of students. Now, as he prepares for the next chapter, the film follows his journey of moving forward, and discovering new ways to inspire beyond the classroom post-retirement. Floyd has personally had a massive impact on me as an artist, aspiring educator, and human being. While this film is a tribute to him, it is equally an exploration and celebration of mentors everywhere, who relentlessly dedicate themselves to improving students’ lives, despite difficult circumstances. We have already filmed 40 hours of footage (and 30,000 gigabytes, wow!) and are now raising funds to bring this documentary to life in post-production. “Band Together” (2024) - a branded short doc for @hipentertainment Music has been a fundamental aspect of my life as far back as I can remember. To make a short documentary about our family business, and some of the impactful artists at its core, is a wonderful opportunity. To do so in an effort to support music education charities, has been a rare and incredible blessing. With a short timeframe and busy artist schedules, we opted for a mix of talking head interviews, archival, and shooting rehearsals observationally. Our goal was to convey the importance and joy music brings artists, audiences, and students alike. hastening towards you to tell you something.. I’m grateful to have graduated with a B.A in Media, with Summa Cum Laude and the Outstanding Senior Award from my department :) This degree for me represents a lot of hard work and late nights, but more importantly, the incredible support of the most important people in my life. Apologies for the essay, but I want to use this milestone as an opportunity to thank them. I am so grateful for my parents and family, who work so hard every day to give me the best opportunities to learn and grow. I’m thankful for my incredible girlfriend Kaleena, who stayed with me MANY nights past 2am in the lab this semester, and shows me everyday how to be a kinder, more hardworking, and wiser person. I’m thankful for my friends and creative collaborators, who have made my time at Pacific full of joy and meaningful experiences. I’m thankful for my professors + staff mentors who motivate me and serve as some of the most important role models in my life. Through their support and trust in me, I’ve been able to pursue opportunities I never thought would be possible.
