Last Monday, Young Camden Foundation were invited to speak at Camden’s Full Council Meeting on Child Poverty. We were incredibly proud to have one of our Young Ambassadors, Ibrahim, represent YCF and speak powerfully on behalf of young people experiencing poverty in Camden.
Camden have recently launched the Raise Camden Taskforce to address child poverty and unfairness in children's health, which you can find out more about on their website.
Camden Council, in collaboration with the Institute of Health Equity, has launched a groundbreaking report: Raise Camden: Child Health Equity Data Audit, offering a powerful snapshot of what it’s like to grow up in Camden today.
🎬 In this video, our Young Ambassadors and YCF members - @kcbyouth , @protouchsa , @sirhvharts_official , and @sydrcldn respond to the findings and reflect on what they mean for young people in our borough.

We were so excited to finally share our new film with you: ‘An Ode to Youth Work.’ 📽️
This film was created as part of the media_trust Film programme funded by @johnlyonscharity
The programme aims to amplify the voice of charities and raise awareness of their work.
Our film celebrates the vital role of youth work in Camden. Featuring YCF members @sirhvharts_official , @ccacamden , and @kentishtowncityfarm , the film highlights the impact of youth provision across the London Borough of Camden. Set to a powerful spoken word piece by former YCF Young Ambassador and all-round star, @aya.elgool_ymp , this film is a tribute to the resilience, creativity, and community that youth work fosters.
We have also been nominated for a Smiley Award! Please vote for us here: https://lnkd.in/g7bHbUnF
Thank you to everyone involved including director @rbfilmsuk and producer, Tolu Stedford 💫
Camden is one of the most diverse, vibrant boroughs in London. That's not incidental to what we do, it's the whole point.
The young people we work with come from every background, every community, every corner of this borough. They deserve to grow up feeling safe, valued, and at home in the place they live.
Hate has no place in Camden, and it has no place in the futures we're building for young people here.
If recent events have left you or someone you know feeling isolated or unsafe, you don't have to navigate that alone. Camden is full of community organisations, faith spaces, libraries and welcoming places where you can connect, find support, and be around people who care.

💡 Did you know that 70% of young people in the UK don’t receive early mental health support when they need it?
This Mental Health Awareness Week, YHF, alongside other Young People’s Foundations ( @ypftrust ), is highlighting the importance of turning awareness into action.
We’re joining the call to take action, for yourself, for someone else, and for all of us, because lasting change happens when communities come together.

Last week, our Young Ambassadors hosted their first event: Young Camden Rising 🎉
Focused on connecting young people in Camden with employers and opportunities, the event brought together inspiring speakers from Parliament, Francis Crick, Donmar Warehouse, and the NHS to share insights into their sectors and work experience opportunities for young Camdeners.
The second half of the evening centred around networking, with stalls from KX Recruit and Camden Apprenticeships helping attendees explore next steps and opportunities available locally.
With over 50 attendees, we couldn’t be prouder of our ambassadors for delivering such a thoughtful and well-organised event. From managing a budget, choosing the venue, deciding on the theme, food and speakers, to promoting the event themselves, coordinating logistics on the day, and hosting the evening — they led every part of it.
A huge congratulations to all of our Young Ambassadors for making Young Camden Rising such a success 👏

🌟HAF HIGHLIGHTS🌟
The #DfE HAF programme brought communities across Camden together this Spring with an incredible programme of events and activities. From hands-on cooking and creative arts workshops to outdoor sports, drama performances and wellbeing sessions, the programme delivered inclusive, fun and educational experiences for children and young people. 39 separate HAF schemes were ran this Spring. And, at each site, staff opened their doors to offer nutritious meals, play opportunities, and supportive services to help create safe spaces for learning, laughter and connection. So we want to take this opportunity to send out a huge "THANK YOU" for every HAF provider who made Spring so fantastic! #HAF#HAF26

"Having a voice isn't about being the loudest person in the room. It's about feeling confident enough to speak, and knowing your voice has value"
A very introspective and honest blog from Young Ambassador Ibrahim on how growing up in Camden has helped him find his confidence in his own voice.
