Healing—-> again meet Kennedy The Little Foster kid who came rip roaring into my life. Not perfect but pretty dang awesome!! Crusing after we did some work yesterday and she said hey can u teach me how to surf. Well she had been a few time before but yeah sure let’s go surfing. Went by @surfnwearbeachhouse in Santa Barbara and they hooked her up with gear N/C cause their my peeps 🙌🏻 run down to the local point break and she goes out and got up and surfed on a few. I am on the beach doing my best coaching been several years since I was pretty good at it with my kids. Funny it was surfing that turned my life completely around after starting to surf in a boys home after several foster homes myself. So definitely had some emotions flowing on the beach as Kennedy was surfing. It’s a trip how if you give of yourself how you always seem to get so much more back. And Heck I betcha i had more fun than her😎🙏❤️
This Kid——-> Sammy Regan is a G!! He sometimes slips through the cracks as he is so dang talented in the area of finance he’s pulling his main gig, and consulting for another major startup that he doesn’t have a bunch of free time. But what has always knocked me over is his compassion and generosity. So when he saw my last post and hit me right up to say he’s got an extra 500 bucks he would like to kick in for Kennedy surprised but not really. So happy also when you see your children find good Love ❤️ here @samregan5 with his lovely Alena ❤️
Love ——>❤️ Meet Kennedy my now 16 year old new ride or die. Wasn’t out there saying hey all my kids are now full grown maybe see if there is one that may need a little help or coming along side of. Kennedy has been in one foster home after another I met her foster mom in a boutique in town and somehow came about saying I was raised in foster homes most of my life as well. She connected kennedy and I and so many of my childhood emotions surfaced thought I was well past that, nothing like a good cry or several of them actually. The foster mom says they are trying to raise money to buy her a car her first, she already has a weekend job. Thought to myself hey going to share Kennedy’s story with the Brolins who now live up the street from me. They immediately said they wanted to help. Then the very next day @kathrynbrolin Josh’s wife sent me a text saying hey I went in the restaurant Kennedy works at and said Hi, went Wow really!! Then the following day I see Josh on a beach walk he says u get my text, I didn’t yet. Get to my phone and there was a picture of Josh and Kennedy from the very next day after his wife went in. I have always wondered what makes certain people feel so deep as to act on something that isn’t directly connected to them. But now sadly Kennedy is having to leave her current home. And I am wrecked, she only has 15 months until she’s 18 and can live on her own. Her foster mom asked me if I can take her, I said I live in a one bedroom guest house. But I have been getting woke up at night maybe it’s God saying as much as you like your home, you may be moving to a home big enough for Kennedy🤷 surly not ready or prepared but Hell Yes I would!!!!!
P.S my kid @samregan5 just saw my post and texted me saying hey I got 500 bucks to throw into the kittie.. no words I didn’t drop this as a fund raiser plea! Just amazed🙌🏻🙌🏻

Human Condition—-> i Love when I am surprised by people in a Good way. Wrote awhile back about a foster mom I met in a boutique in Santa Barbara when I was buying my daughter a gift she commented, that I must be a good Father, i smiled saying I do my best. Said i was raised in foster homes, so i take parenting pretty serious! Then goes on to tell me she just took in a 16 year old girl who has been put through the wringer, and I thought I had it tough our foster home count is similar her 8 to my 7. Well mom introduced us and I recently started to hang with her a bit, she helps me at my jobsite, we get food i just love her. ❤️ her foster mom texted me the other day saying she can’t handle it anymore had never been a foster mom before and she’s just overwhelmed! I met with her this morning and I asked what’s going to happen to her, she said a girls home in Lompoc, oh please God No!!! The kids been texting me saying getting kicked to the curb again😢 all day I am praying God please deliver this precious little girl she’s been through enough. The foster mom texts me says hey, I will move out of my Montecito home if you and your wife will move in and finishing caring for the kid for 15 months until she turns 18! I am leveled! such Love ❤️ i@said if that’s what it’s going to take to keep her from the girls home, I’am in……, let me ask you, who would move out of your beautiful home in Montecito to then have some guy you recently just met, move in and finishing caring for your foster kid. That’s Hall of Fame in my Book 🙌🏻🙏
Friends—-> I am all about friendships that go the distance. I still have some wonderful ones that have already passed the 50 year line. Found this of my wife on the left and her best friend. She and her friend of more than 40 years Met when she went to work for her and her Husband who had just started the Brazilian Surf company Mormaii which ended up becoming the equivalent of a Quiksilver in the 🇺🇸
So watching the first world tour surf contest the other day which was won by Miguel Pupo who is sponsored by Mormaii my wife who is a big surf fan had even more interest and i have become a fan of most of the Brazilian surfers, who surf with such passion and are devoted countrymen 🇧🇷
Point Men——> i have had some good ones in my Life, still have a few after all these years. So when I ran across this one of my kid Spencer and his side kick @mgk805 on the right got me digging into my well. Since they first met as young teenagers in Kauai they never managed to get to far away from each other. They both have pulled each other out of harms way on several occasions. I have been the Blessed Dad who got to participate in my kids friendships. There’s been a few, Max was and is a Big one, @torreymeister is another huge Blessing @adamlsb@braidc all the deep talks I was honored to have with these guys. I never felt I was old enough to be their Dads, just felt like I was chosen to come beside them. Funny a lot of these guys have thanked me for taking the time, yet I was the one who got most of the blessings. Never could figure that out, other than guess that’s just Gods economy😎🙏
Curren—-> 3 time world champion surfer Tom Curren in all his glory with his son @patcurren on bass guitar. Posted this lick before yet after seeing the post from @nalufilms of Tom playing with Brad Gerlach @waveki reminded me when wifey an I were hanging with the Curren’s at a little backyard BBQ. It was actually Pats band at the time Clean Spill that was playing. Yet I decided to petition Tom to jump up and Jam with his kid when Clean Spill was on a break. Tell ya it wasn’t that easy of a sell, but Dang!!! What a moment sitting next to Tom’s wife @makkedahcurn and watching a classic little Curren jam session 🔥🔥
Time—> getting to a place in life where memories are some of the most important things in life. My kids often say Dad put away the camera. Got a buddy kinda well known whatever that means🤷 and when we’re hanging out i am often clicking pics of him and his family, my kid gets bent don’t be a Fan Boy yet I send him all the good ones and tells me some are his favorites. Think about how moments or people may come into your Life and like that be gone. Nice to have a little image to look back on. Was out in front of our little studio today and here was another little moment. The above my boy Spencer and his family. And with them is Spencer’s Point man Max and his crew. Boy I have been in the mix with Max on a few. Traveling to foreign countries to surf, Several years ago saying Phillie at a crossroads on what gal I should bet my future on🤷were laughing it up going Max u put your chips on the right lady his wifey is amazing!! Open up the photo and there’s my Granddaughter Rhythm, throwing the ✌️ sign yup making those memories 😎
Gotta—-> fair amount of folks in my life that I got Love 4! Really doesn’t matter if they can give to me, or me them it’s just a connection I guess. The above pic was sent to me last night by a one that I Love @tomservaisjr he just gave me a massive print of that iconic shot he took of Tom Curren to hang in our new studio. Says I will give you as many as you want to auction off for your Foundation. There’s a handful maybe 2 of peeps in my life, and most of you know who you are, cause I pay a lot of attention to you. That everytime I think of you I smile or shed tears of joy🙌🏻❤️
What’s ur Purpose—-> waited a long time to finally act on mine. Have known for a really longtime what I believe God created me to do. Thankfully the time has come. Here’s my kid Spencer in front of our new studio we call it. What’s cool is this is the building where @cisurfboards first got its start in 1969. We just started a foundation called Purpose Project, modeled after Newmans own. Their product is food ours is Real Estate. We also started a real estate production company called Montecito Productions an LLC set up to come along side of our non Profit. Our vision is to earn our own revenue to then give it away differently. We’re excited to see this all come together. Our little studio is in the Funk Zone in Santa Barbara. Just fell into a little slot with an artist gal Demi who used to compete in surf contests with my kids years ago. I love ❤️ to call these divine appointments 🙏
What makes U cry—-> I am usually known for my laughter or at least a smile on my Face. Lately I have found myself crying more than usual. Not out of suffering but rather from Joy. Often it just comes over me, was in church yesterday and I began to cry. Have this dear friend who longs to be married, she’s amazing really special and for some reason it’s on my heart that she lands well, into the arms of not just a Godly man but one that will cherish her for all that God created her to do as well as him. I know a few marriages that are almost supernatural in the way they come together like the Bible says, where two become one♥️ I always try my best to surround myself with like minded people, as I find that compliments me in the way I have been created to make my contributions in the world I live in. And yes sometimes you will suffer in that, and other times it will be incredibly joyful🙏
