“Obviously I’m only 19 but I have a lot more I need to do. People look at my life now and think I’ve hit the top, but I’ve not yet, because I’m still being ridiculed and my community is still being attacked for being who they are. It’s a sad world we live in. But I live a very privileged life compared to 90 per cent of my community. I realise that.”

If you told younger Yaz that one day she’d have an indie film coming out in cinemas across the US & UK… she probably wouldn’t believe you.
I was 19 when I booked @lifehackthemovie and now, 3 years later, it’s finally coming to the big screen. There were so many moments in between where things felt uncertain but somehow we made it here.
A special thank you to @ronancorriganfilm & @hopeelliottkemp for creating such a safe space throughout this journey. You both made this film feel like more than work, you made it feel like family.
This is your reminder that dreams don’t always arrive instantly. Sometimes they take years of becoming. Keep believing in yourself even when nobody else fully sees the vision yet. One day your younger self will look at you with pride.
Younger Yaz would be proud.
