As 2024 comes to an end I wanted to celebrate by posting my first choreography reel. I’ve put a lot of time into creating a body of work I’m proud of this year and can’t wait to grow that even more in 2025. I want to give a massive thank you to all the amazing dancers in these clips that have brought my work to life! If I could tag you all I would. Someone in the Crowd: Part 1 - An independent short film This piece, although a musical theatre piece shouldn’t feel sensationalised or overly theatrical. I want it to be a real story, featuring real people and portraying real emotions with camera work that reflects that. The narrative is designed to be a commentary on our experience in such a unique industry, depicting just how high the high moments and how low the low moments can be. I would love it to be at the precipice of entertaining and eye opening for those who are separate from our industry to give them insight into our lives. For those in the industry, I want them to feel seen This short film was created as a passion project and could not have been possible without the dozens of people who donated their time for the love of creating art. Exclusive Online Workshop Theatre Jazz with @xavierpellin We are so excited to offer our first online GDO Australia & New Zealand workshop with one of our incredible judges, Xavier Pellin. Xavier is an Australian choreographer and performer based in London, a graduate of The Australian Ballet School, and has performed with The Australian Ballet and Louisville Ballet before transitioning into contemporary dance and musical theatre. Most recently he has been performing internationally in Cats the Musical and continues to teach advanced theatre jazz classes across London. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn directly from someone working professionally at the highest level of the industry. Cats is officialy DONE and I have a lot to say but I’ll try keep it as brief as possible! Firstly, what a powerhouse group of performers to bring Australia’s 40th anniversary production of Cats to life, you all did the legacy proud! The people, the memories and the laughs were all enough to last a life time. I couldn’t have asked for a better cast for be DC and Swing for. Jumping into new roles every day has been very special, and equally special has been the memories made off and on stage with my swing family ❤️ Congrats to everyone from all departments for your amazing work bringing Cats to life and letting the memory live again xx Finally a massive shout out to my incredible Resident Director/Choreographer @aberrisford and my Co-Dance Captain @dominiquehamilton_ . These two women possess a mind blowing level of talent and I feel so lucky to be working beside them. The three of us together were truly the ultimate dream team (in my not so humble opinion). Go team DAX! I have so much more I could say but nobody needs my essay. Congrats again to all, we did it Joe! Certainly a tour for the memory book 😌

Meet your Judge - @xavierpellin Xavier Pellin is an Australian choreographer and performer based in London. He trained as a classical ballet dancer and is a graduate of The Australian Ballet School in Melbourne. During his professional ballet career, Xavier performed with The Australian Ballet and Louisville Ballet (USA), appearing in principal and soloist roles. It was during this time that he first stepped into choreography with his original work Proxy(2019). Xavier later transitioned into the contemporary dance sector, performing with Scimm Dance Company, before moving into musical theatre. From 2020–2023, he performed as Mr Mistoffelees in Cats across multiple Asian tours under GWB Entertainment. Alongside his performing career, Xavier has developed a strong choreographic and teaching practice. Between Cats tours, he began working with Performing Artists Company (PAC), an Australian-based organisation dedicated to providing pre-professional performers with industry-level training. He joined PAC as Assistant Choreographer on Newsies Jr. (2022) and returned the following year as Choreographer for A Chorus Line: Teen Edition (2023). Now residing in London, Xavier runs weekly sold-out Advanced/Professional Theatre Jazz classes at Pineapple Dance Studios and The Manor LDN, where he explores movement quality, musicality, and contemporary jazz concepts. He also teaches and choreographs at various performing arts colleges across London and the UK. In 2024, Xavier directed and choreographed his first short dance film, Someone in the Crowd, in collaboration with New Page Productions and Reclaim Productions. Set to “Someone in the Crowd” from La LaLand, the film follows four performers navigating the audition process. Designed as an honest commentary on the highs and lows of the industry, the work sits between entertainment and reflection, with the intention of making artists feel seen. In 2024/25, Xavier performed as Dance Captain and Ensemble in Peter Pan with Crossroads Pantomimes in Nottingham. He is currently Dance Captain and Swing on the Australian tour of Cats the Musical with Crossroads Live Australia. Xavier is so so excited! 🙌

Cats Australia - Opening: 20/06/25 🐈 This show has been pivotal in my life since I first performed it 5 years ago.
