📝Celebrating 30 Years of WSF: Day 30/30📝 And just like that, we’ve reached day 30! To close out, a note from WSF’s founder, Joshua Blum: It’s hard to believe it’s been thirty years. It feels like yesterday since we loaded on the bus to shoot the United States of Poetry, and days since we moved into the building on the Bowery. There was never a grand plan. We wanted to support artists, make movies, and earn a living. To this day there is no formula. The constant has been getting involved in projects we believe in, and only working with people we like and respect. Despite industry wide headwinds we remain excited about the future. We are finding new ways to work with clients, embracing new media and technology, and staying committed to traditional storytelling in the forms of film, TV and live theater. There is no question that the most significant take away from the last thirty years have been the friends we’ve made. There are so many people we have known for decades, and each generation brings us new colleagues who amaze and inspire us. So to all our friends and colleagues I want to say thank you. 🏙️Celebrating 30 Years of WSF: Day 29/30 🏙️ 310 BOWERY Before Washington Square Films called it home, 310 Bowery lived many lives—as did the Bowery itself. Located at the crossroads of grit and culture (or Bowery and 2nd Ave if you want to get geographical about it) in downtown NYC, this historic building has seen it all: from the CBGB’s, industrial shops, and even poetry clubs still around today, the building is situated in the evolving creative heart of lower Manhattan. Once a lumber company (and a couple of industrial shops before that), our office sits on the second floor, right above @310bowerybar where we’ve hosted many wrap parties and now have their Friday night playlist memorized. Within these walls, we’ve produced feature films, commercials, and stories that span the globe… all while stationed firmly in the energy of New York City. #WSF30 #washingtonsquarefilms #wsfilms #bowery #nycfilm #production #downtownnyc #310bowery
