MEET OUR AMBASSADORS: Mireia Vilanova is an animation and live-action producer based in Los Angeles, with work showcased at major festivals including Sundance, Toronto, Locarno, and Tribeca. She currently serves as Producer and Head of Originals at Cartuna, overseeing original development, co-productions, and co-financing across film, TV, and short-form, with credits spanning iconic franchises like SpongeBob, Dora the Explorer, and Monster High. As an independent live-action producer, her feature credits include By Design (Music Box), I Live Here Now (Utopia), and Cece’s Interlude (Sundance TAAF grant), with upcoming projects including Sender (SXSW, starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Britt Lower), Silence Sometimes (Berlinale Co-Production Market / Sundance Producers Lab), and Moonfish (Biennale College Cinema). The Cannes Screenplay List is a prestigious annual list of top scripts by women and non-binary writers, launched during the Cannes Film Festival and presented by MUBI since 2021. The list was endorsed by A-list jurors such as Mounia Meddour (“Papicha”, “Houria”), Vanessa Kirby (“The Crown”, “Pieces of a Woman”, “Fantastic Four”), Nava Mau (“Baby Reindeer”), Fawzia Mirza (“The Queen of My Dreams”).
