I’ve spent a lot of time in Liverpool over the years, every time I visit I’m reminded what a great city it is. The waterfront is something special and I love how the heritage of buildings like The Royal Liver Building and The Port of Liverpool Building sit along side the bold, contemporary architecture of the National Museums Liverpool. On a recent visit Lewis Chetcuti and myself tried to capture the feel of this part of the city on film. Telling the story of places like this is what we do, but Liverpool made it easy. What do you think? Where shall we shoot next? @royalliver1911 @portofliverpoolbuilding @museumofliverpool

Every time I visit the Royal Albert Dock Liverpool I think about how close we came to losing it. When it opened in 1846 Liverpool dominated global trade but in the 70's the ships stopped coming and the docks fell silent and for a while, demolition looked like the only future. Thankfully, someone had a better idea. The loving restoration in the 1980s didn't just save a collection of beautiful buildings, it handed them back to the city, and today the Royal Albert Dock sits at the heart of the city's cultural life. It's one of those rare places that carries its past with pride whilst feeling completely alive in the present. On a recent visit Lewis Chetcuti and myself tried to capture that feeling on film. This is the 2nd in a series of these place films, and I've really being enjoying trying to bottle the soul of a place in a film. What do you think? And where should we capture next? @thealbertdock @generalprojects @peteswiftysan

A charity can do incredible work. But if the story isn’t told clearly and consistently, the impact risks going unseen. That’s why storytelling matters. It builds understanding, creates connection, and shows the true value of the work being done. We've worked with We Love MCR Charity for a while now and their impact stretches right across the city, from backing grassroots community groups to supporting young rising stars. The challenge? Making sure people see and feel the full breadth of what they do. By building a consistent narrative and sharing stories with heart, charities can inspire action, attract support, and show the difference they’re making every day. Because good storytelling doesn’t just communicate impact, it multiplies it. Thanks to the team at We Love MCR Charity

We’re lucky to work with clients who trust the process. Game-changers, free thinkers, and teams who give us the freedom to explore ideas and create meaningful work. In this film, we share who we work with and why those relationships matter. 🎥 Watch the film — and if this sounds like you, let’s talk.

Can you capture the place feel of a neighbourhood in a photograph? Since moving to Manchester in the early 2000's our DOP Rob has always been fascinated with Castlefield, it’s the juxtaposition of old and new. An industrial landscape repurposed for 21st century use. This has been emphasised over the last 10 years as redevelopment of this area of the city has accelerated. He wanted to try and capture this feeling in photographs and we love the results. What do you think?

Fun day out capturing a Simply Cycling session for our lovely client We Love MCR Charity. Might need one of these bikes as a permanent piece of kit although next time @lewischetcuti can drive.

We recently worked on a lovely project with @maxwell_farrell_ , a film celebrating the 40th anniversary of the regeneration of Newcastle Quayside. As a proud Geordie, this project means a great deal to me. The Quayside isn’t just an example of regeneration, it’s a place woven into the story, spirit, and character of Newcastle. It’s somewhere that holds memories, pride, and a sense of identity for so many of us. What quickly became clear is that the Quayside story is far too rich and varied to be told through one person. Its true impact is best understood through the voices of those who have shaped it, lived it, and been influenced by it across the decades. By bringing together perspectives from different disciplines and generations, the film reflected on why the Quayside became such a defining chapter in the city’s transformation and why it continues to stand as a world-class example of what thoughtful regeneration can achieve. It’s been a privilege to help tell a story that means so much to Newcastle and the people who call the city their home. Thanks to @museplaces for supporting this project.

I love shooting head shots. I think it’s the intimacy of it, you have such little time from meeting an individual to capturing their portrait… and lets be honest most people hate it. So communication is vital, talking each person through the process, trying different poses and position. I always shoot to the laptop so the subject can see their images straight away… this mean we can re-shoot, try different angles and poses to make sure they are happy with the final image. And I really love with when they leave, happy with their photo and surprised that the whole experience wasn’t as bad as they were expecting… some people even enjoy it! Thanks to @form.property for trusting us with their team shots.

We headed up to Newcastle for the opening of Quayside at 40 at the @farrellcentre . Beautifully curated by @maxwell_farrell_ and Owen Hopkins and in partnership with @museplaces , the exhibition is a celebration of urban regeneration at its very best. At its heart is Terry Farrell’s masterplan, a bold and ambitious vision that transformed the Quayside and helped breath new life into a once unloved part of the city. 40 years on it's a piece of regeneration that continues to influence how we think about placemaking and long-term city transformation, which was reflected by the amazing turn out. Really proud to see the film we created in collaboration with @ldncollective_ featured as part of the exhibition. If you’re in Newcastle, it’s well worth a visit.
