Congratulations Pearl Abyss for the release of @crimsondesert_ yesterday! We had a lovely ol’ shindig down at @sideglobal London to celebrate, with the production team, directors, audio engineers and about as many actors as we could cram in.
Huge thank you to @lottie_mills for bringing me in to the team of directors, spearheaded by the brilliant Mark Healey, for whom this was a heck of a long-running project. I had a fun and only slightly delirious time wrangling countless NPC barks.
Enjoy getting lost in the world of Pywel, friends, there’s a lot of it that needs saving!

MIO: Memories in Orbit is out todaaaay!
I love love loved directing the voice cast for this stunning game and can’t wait to get stuck into failing miserably at it (love a metroidvania, don’t have time to get good 😅). From the moment I was brought on to the project I could tell how much care developer Douze Dixièmes were putting into it - it is a work of ART!

November and December were full of Good Skies, Good Company and Good Nonsense, and truly thankful to all the gorgeous humans who had been along for the ride.
I am very lucky to have been able to do a lot of lovely things in a year that hasn’t been kind to many, but I’ve always felt my strongest and brightest when empowering others and embracing the inner goblin. Hold on to your whimsy, folks, we’re going to need it.

For all those who asked me about it last year - I’m going to be teaching again in November/December!
This 6 week in-person class at @collectiveactingstudio will run Wednesday evenings running 5th November through to 10th December and explore the nuances of acting on mic for games as opposed to theatre or screen, culminating in recording a monologue you can keep and use in a demo reel.
We’ll cover things like:
✨ Making bold but informed choices quickly when you have little information
✨ Bringing physicality to microphone-only performance
✨ What makes a performance award-winning
✨ Approaching branching narrative
✨Barks, Efforts, Vocal Combat and technical language
✨ The various functions of dialogue in a game
✨ Auditioning, home studios and the business of acting for games
