Art that moves with the wind… 🍃 We were gifted three stunning metal art pieces by Ruth Reiman, created by her late husband, Steve—an artist known for his dynamic, movement-inspired work. He designed his sculptures to interact with the wind… which is why two of them now hang here, gently moving with the breeze among the trees. We feel incredibly honored to share and preserve these pieces as part of the ranch’s story. We’ll include a link below to learn more about Steve and his work. 🐝 A little weekend wildlife stewardship at Gemini Moon Ranch This past weekend we had the pleasure of welcoming Stephanie and Riley from @wingsofchange2020 to the ranch to help address an unexpected situation — a fallen oak branch that had become home to an invasive, non-native bee colony. 🐝While bees are incredibly important pollinators, some non-native species can outcompete and harm native pollinators that our local ecosystems depend on. They carefully removed the colony from the fallen branch so they can be safely rehomed, protecting both the bees and the surrounding habitat. It was fascinating to watch the process and learn more about how delicate the balance is between protecting pollinators and preserving native species. At Gemini Moon Ranch, stewardship of the land — from ancient oaks to pollinator habitats — is part of our mission as a nonprofit preservation foundation.
