When that happens, I shift the camera’s field of view back and forth, trying to return to the origin of the absolute coordinate system. The origin of the absolute coordinate system theoretically always exists at the center, but empirically it lies beyond an event horizon that can never be reached. When dizziness clouds my vision, like a pilgrim suddenly lost in the middle of a vertical desert, I must hurriedly light incense to generate turbulence among the pixels. The pilgrim—peregrinus, meaning one who comes from afar—at that moment inscribes the form of the wind produced by this pixel turbulence into a lattice of voxels (the minimal volumetric unit of three-dimensional structure), engraving it into memory. In this process, the pixel, once a unit of vision, is reduced to the voxel, a unit of existence. from artist's note 견고한 거미줄이 미로처럼 얽혀있는 가상공간의 폴리곤들 사이에서 나는 정확히 같은 자리에 서 있으면서도 매번 다른 곳으로 미끄러진다. 그럴 때면 카메라의 화각을 이리저리 옮겨 절대좌표계의 원점으로 돌아가려고 한다. 절대좌표계의 원점은 이론적으로는 항상 중심에 존재하지만, 경험적으로는 결코 접근할 수 없는 사건의 지평선(event horizon) 너머에 존재한다. 갑자기 수직 사막 한가운데 길을 잃은 순례자처럼 현기증이 눈앞을 가리면 급하게 향을 피워 픽셀들의 난기류를 만들어내야만 한다. 멀리서 온 사람(peregrinus)이라는 뜻의 순례자는 그 순간 픽셀들의 난기류가 생성한 바람의 형상을 복셀(voxel, 3차원 구조의 최소부피단위)로된 격자틀에 세겨 기억 속에 각인한다. 이 때 시각적 단위였던 픽셀은 존재의 단위인 복셀로 환원된다. 작가노트 발췌 @wwnn.kr @bradwolffpartners #sculpture #3D #exhibition #contemporary #sanctuary

. 소진 증후군 환자의 카타르시스 Catharsis of Burn Out Syndrome Patient 3D Simulation Video 8K Resolution 2025 믿음이 없는 사람들은 삼체 세계(Three-Body System)의 한 행성에서 세개의 태양이 동시에 만들어내는 절묘한 일식을 바라 볼 때 느껴지는 그 우주의 숭고함과 카타르시스를 아직 경험해보지 못했다. 방황하고 소진된 자들만이 이 카타르시스를 느낄 수 있다. 순례자들은 벡터의 공간 속으로 끝 없이 분기하며 미끄러지는 이 길 위에서 자신의 존재를 느낄 수 있을 뿐, 절대 좌표계의 원점 내부의 성지에 도착하는 순간 방향감각을 잃고 목적을 상실한다. 이 곳에서 중력은 그저 매개변수(parameter)뒤에 숨은 은둔자요, 빛의 속도는 단지 광선추적기(ray tracing)에 탑승한 조사관의 지각에 불과하다. Those without faith have yet to experience the cosmic sublimity and catharsis felt when witnessing the exquisite eclipse formed by Trisolaris within a Three-Body System. Only the lost and the exhausted can feel this catharsis. As pilgrims endlessly diverge and slip along this path within vector space, they only can sense their own existence; yet the moment they arrive at the sacred site within the origin of the absolute coordinate system, they lose all sense of direction and forfeit their purpose. Here, gravity is merely a hermit hidden behind parameters, and the speed of light is nothing more than the perception of an investigator riding atop a ray tracer. Today we opened the new exhibition Overheated Windmill by Jaehun Park at the Grote Kerk in Alkmaar. So happy to have his beautiful work with us here in Alkmaar, work that is mesmerizing, but also offers a sharp reflection on the world we live in today. Jaehun’s work explores how the many crises we are experiencing, from climate to politics and capitalism’ are not separate issues, but deeply intertwined. As Ivo Bol said so beautifully today: although no humans appear in the works, the works somehow reveal the profound impact people have on the world. Come and experience the exhibition on the high choir and in the chapels of the church. Art Rotterdam 2026 AHOY Discover "When Shadows Collide" Katrin Korfmann & Jaehun Park With Bradwolff & Partners @bradwolffpartners Opening Thursday 26 March, Art Rotterdam 2026 Duo Stand Experience their latest works from March 27-29, 11:00-19:00. When fleeting moments meet mediated worlds, perception shifts. Katrin Korfmann and Jaehun Park each investigate, in their own way, how we see, feel, and experience the world. Korfmann captures ephemeral urban moments in layered photographic compositions and videos she approaches as still images, where time, movement, and human presence are suggested rather than shown literally. Park constructs digital, posthuman landscapes in which everyday objects transform into symbols of consumption, ritual, and introspection. Though their approaches differ — stillness versus movement, focused observation versus immersive engagement - both share a focus on time, perception, and the human experience. Together, they reveal how reality, memory, and imagined futures intersect. Jaehun Park (1986, South Korea) lives and works in Amsterdam. He studied painting at Seoul National University and earned a Master in Artistic Research at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague (KABK). His work is included in collections such as AkzoNobel, Hyundai Motors, ING, LAM Museum, the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture, and has been shown in national and international exhibitions, including CASSTL Antwerp, Beijing Biennale (2023), Museum JAN (2022) and Ulsan Art Museum. In October 2025, he was awarded the H/ART AveNEW Media Art Prize in Seoul. In 2026, he presents his solo exhibition "Overheated Windmill" at the Grote Kerk Alkmaar (26 March - 17 May). Part of the Hallelujah! Contemporary Altarpieces series, the exhibition connects video art with contemporary societal issues within the monumental church space. The project features a video triptych in the high choir and additional works in the northern chapels, accompanied by a site-specific sound performance by Ivo Bol. On 18 April at 15:00, a special Art Talk will be held with Jaehun Park and Bart Rutten, Director of the Centraal Museum.
