A book club with a difference with @tom_herbert_ and @willjamescoach over a fire cooked feast at @thelongtablestroud ~ such delicious food and to listen to Tom share his honest and raw experiences in his role as a leader and innovator throughout his career. I found it so inspiring, and Will knew exactly what to ask to really extract those raw responses. So many amazing events are run at @thelongtablestroud ~ hopefully more like this too. #longtablestroud #cotswolds #bookclub

Why did you become a founder? For many of the founders I work with it felt like less an option, and more of an imperative - an undeniable pull to cut a new path, meet an un-met need, or work in a different way. It’s now well documented how many founders and entrepreneurs are neuro-diverse, meaning that “finding another way” wasn’t just a preference — it was necessary. And often, that necessity becomes a powerful source of innovation. “Building the plane in the air” is exhilarating and brutal in equal measure — exciting, terrifying, motivating, exhausting, and, at times, infuriating. And for all these reasons, hearing from others on simalar paths can be reassuring, encouraging, equipping and inspiring. I trust today will be all of those things as we hear from Hugh Taylor’s journey of building a business with a difference at Roadnight Taylor | Certified B Corp™. Still time to jump on board if you’re free. (link in comments)

Thank you to Liz Hall and ‘Coaching at Work’ magazine for the generous invitation to speak with you for a profile in this month’s issue… reading it back I can’t believe we covered so much! (From the archetype of the ‘border-stalker’ or “Mearcstapa’; the symbolism of the fire lily; the value I find in playing a part in APECS Association for Professional Executive Coaching and Supervision as a community of practice, and an aspiration that sits at the heart of my coaching — to “join in the dance” with people as they bring into being what is waiting to emerge in their lives and leadership.) I’m grateful for such a warm invitation, and to participate in a conversation held with such grace and care. If you happen to pick up this month’s issue, let me know what resonates for you.

Humans are a storytelling species... MRI scans now show that listening to stories lights up multiple parts of our brains. Stories bring ideas to life. Today’s ‘Be Inspired Book Club - where you don’t have to read the book’ is slightly different, because the book Rita Symons is bringing is her own. I’m looking forward to learning ‘with’ and from her as she shares about what’s brought her here, where her learning-edge is now, and what she’s sensing the next chapters might hold.

As Reese Witherspoon’s comments about “chasing your talents” go viral, it feels like a useful moment to remember the power we all have to build the #confidence of those around us by expressing specific #appreciation for what we value, and cultivating the #culture we desire by celebrating successes, and “catching people doing things right.” An unexpected turn in a recent conversation with Michael Tingsager (MCIPD) — inspired by The One Minute Manager by Ken Blanchard - thank you for reminding us of the power of #gratitude. 🙏
