These three things are super important to us at The Long Table.
We often find people are surprised to know that most of our food is purchased, or that we’re a business (we’re a Community Interest Company), or that we’re committed to fair paid employment rather than relying on volunteers.
Any surprises in there for you?

So how does pay as you can actually work?
Simply put - some people pay more, some people pay less, everybody eats together 🍲
It reflects the heart of our table - that everybody belongs, regardless of what we can give.
It’s community in action.
To help sustain The Long Table’s place in our community, you can pay a meal forward, or become a Friend of The Long Table to give monthly - check our link in bio.

April numbers are in and the numbers just keep going up. Our community gathered around the table for an amazing 5615 meals last month. Nearly half of those meals were accessed at less than cost, and one in ten of those was given away at no cost. That’s thousands of delicious meals eaten together in community, in a way that wouldn’t be possible without you, our community, and without the option to pay-as-you-can.
Pay-as-you-can is a core value of The Long Table, because we know that community is stronger and deeper when there’s a seat for everyone at the table. As we all face our own challenges in the changing landscape of world, we need each other more than ever.
So please, come along. Bring a friend. Become a Friend. Join in where you can, we’d love to see you soon.

We’re hosting With Good Company for the second time. What began last year as an experiment in co-creation continues to take shape - a gathering influenced as much by the land as by the people who come.
We’re glad to open Windout Barn again alongside @thelongtablestroud and @with.diversity , who are collaborating and leading the experience. Together they’re creating space for people carrying a lot - pressure, responsibility, pace - to step into something slower and more restorative.
As hosts, it’s a privilege to see the barn and landscape become part of that. To watch people reconnect with themselves, each other, and the natural world around them.
There are still a few spaces available.
If you’re curious, get in touch with @with.diversity or @thelongtablestroud to find out more.
