Throwback to Central View, Newport - a standout regeneration development delivered for @wearecodigroup that still looks every bit as impressive when we recently took an opportunity to revisit. Originally transforming the former Hornblower Pub site on Commercial Street, the scheme was designed to bring high-quality later living apartments into the heart of the city while helping drive wider regeneration in the area. And looking at these latest photos exactly six years on … you’re hard pushed to tell them apart from those at handover, which look like CGIs themselves! Can you tell which ones are which! The striking façade, detailing and overall finish have stood the test of time. A project we’re proud to have been part of, and one that continues to showcase the impact of thoughtful design and quality construction. It’s real testament to strong design, quality materials and the delivery team. #BuildingABrighterTomorrow #TeamWillis #Throwback #Quality #AffordableHomes #Regeneration

Through the community investment linked to our @beaconcymrugroup ‘Big Shed’ development, we recently funded @ccfc_foundation to deliver a bespoke 5-week ‘Build a Stadium’ programme with four local Tonypandy primary schools: Cwm Clydach, Llwynypia, Ss Gabriel & Raphael and Williamstown. The brief was simple: design a stadium that works better for the people using it and the community around it. Over the project, Year 5 & 6 pupils explored what that really means - looking at sustainability, accessibility and how these spaces are used day to day through drawing, AI and junk modelling, alongside physical football-based activities to complement their learning. 🏗️🌳🦾 A session for each school was delivered by @willis_construction86 , focusing on construction and health & safety, giving learners a practical view of how those ideas translate onto a live construction site and the responsibility that comes with it. The children were also tasked with designing their own H&S signs, which led to some wonderful, colourful creations. 👷‍♀️👷 The programme wrapped up with a celebration event at Cardiff City Stadium, where the winning teams from each school presented their stadium designs and shared what they had learned. The confidence and quality of the presentations genuinely stood out - clear thinking, well-developed ideas, and the ability to explain how and why they created their stadiums. 🏟️ The judges had a difficult task, considering not just the designs but the thinking and teamwork behind them. Congratulations to Ss Gabriel & Raphael Primary School, whose overall entry came top of the league 👏 To complete the experience, all the children were taken pitchside, stepping right up close to the edge of the pitch—taking in the scale and atmosphere from a position usually reserved for those at the centre of it. From building their own stadiums to walking through the tunnel like professionals, the day provided lasting memories, inspired future construction talent, and maybe even created few new football fans!⚽ #BuildingABrighterTomorrow #TeamWillis #BuildAStadium #ConstructionCareers #SocialValue #LoveTonypandy #InspiringtheNextGeneration #Opportunities

We’ve completed the construction phase of our construction project at Nyth y Deryn Pupil Referral Unit. As part of our social value delivery on The Mill with @cadwynha (Cadarn Housing Group), we are working with learners through a series of hands-on, practical sessions to improve their outdoor area. A huge part of what’s made this a success, is the support from our subcontractor @advancedcarpentrysolutions . All members of their team have been exceptional during the project, taking the time to work alongside learners, getting to know them and explaining tasks clearly. They created an environment where the young people felt comfortable to get involved and thrive. As the sessions progressed, you could see the shift with the leaners - more confidence, more interaction, and a greater willingness to take part. It’s not just about construction skills, but building confidence, communication, and real engagement in a working environment - using tools, handling materials, and building an understanding of how a live project comes together. We were particularly impressed with one learner Neil, who even overcame some fears to participate, and now wants to work in the Construction Industry when he is older. He was rewarded for his hard work and determination by being able to keep his dedicated PPE he used throughout the sessions. Thank you @advancedcarpentrysolutions for making this element of the project such a success. We’re looking forward to continuing the works and seeing the learners continue develop as the project moves forward on the painting & decorating phase. #BuildingABrighterTomorrow #TeamWillis #ConstructionCareers #SocialValue #TheMill #CardiffCommitment #BuildingFutures #Opportunities #Partnerships #Construction #LearningThroughDoing #NythYDeryn

It was 'awesome' to play a part in the Cardiff LEGO League Finals 2026 🤖, volunteering to support the event alongside other likeminded STEM organisations through our collaboration with @cardiffcommitment , and forming part of our social value commitments on @cadwynha (Cadarn Housing Group) development, The Mill. This event was one of three finals days for 21 schools over all ages groups. It brought together Year 5 and 6 learners from 8 schools to take on a series of LEGO-based engineering and coding missions as part of this year’s Unearthed theme. It was inspiring to see the creativity, teamwork and problem-solving on display, with students designing, building and programming robots to tackle the challenges. Events like this play an important role in building confidence in STEM subjects while promoting innovation, inclusion and collaboration - it was a pleasure to be a part the day. Well done to everyone involved 👏 #BuildingABrighterTomorrow #TeamWillis #STEM #LegoLeague #CardiffCommitment #SocialValue #TheMill #FutureTalent

Take a look at the big ideas taking shape with future generations! Through our Big Shed development in Tonypandy town centre, we’re proud to showcase a recent social value project that was all about inspiring the next generation. In partnership with @Willis_Construction86 and @ccfc_foundation , 100 local pupils took part in the “Stadium of the Future” challenge, with 30 representing their schools at the recent celebration event 🏟️🌱 They were set the challenge of designing an eco-friendly stadium of the future, where they explored sustainability, unleashed their creativity, and discovered how innovation can transform the places we visit. We hope this experience has opened their eyes to the wide range of exciting careers within housing and construction, and sparked ambitions for the future. Meanwhile, progress continues on the development, which is set for handover this summer, providing over 50 new homes and 3 commercial units for the community to enjoy. 🏡 #ChangeYouCanSee

It was great to be back at Newport Job Centre today for the latest Youth Career Workshop. After a lively icebreaker, we had the opportunity to discuss careers with the young people in the speed networking sessions. We’re looking forward to hosting work experience opportunities created from this, as part of the social value delivery on the Tredegar Park Lodge project for @newportcitycouncil . #BuildingABrighterTomorrow #TeamWillis #CareerOpportunities #SocialValue

We were pleased to host @cavcinsta student Tanvir on Business Administration work experience as part of our Social Value Commitments on @cadarngroup (Cadwyn Housing Association) development #TheMill. 🏗️ During the action packed week, Tanvir undertook admin tasks at our Head Office, supported on events and activities, and undertook a site tour to see development progress at The Mill. 🙌 As we got to know Tanvir, we learned he is an aspiring Quantity Surveyor. He is a credit to the college, we are looking forward to welcoming him back soon for role specific experience. 👷 Thanks to everyone at Willis who made Tanvir welcome during the week. 🙏 #BuildingABrighterTomorrow #TeamWillis #ConstructionCareers #WorkExperience #InspiretheNextGeneration #QuantitySurveyor

Yesterday we had the opportunity to present to the @constructing_excellence_wales judges in the Social Impact category. It was so difficult to put into the time slot just how much buildSHED means to us, and how much we have achieved as a team. ❤️ Huge thank you to @beaconcymrugroup for representing the team with us, and a special mention to @cambrianvillagetrust123 for joining us to show what a long term legacy buildSHED will be providing for the local community 💙 Good luck to all the other finalists, and we look forward to celebrating our achievements at the Awards in June 🎉 #BuildingABrighterTomorrowSince86 #teambigshed #collaboration #lovetonypandy

We recently supported our client @cadwynha (Cadarn Housing Group) in delivering the new NU Life Furniture showroom — a project making a meaningful impact in the community. It was great to attend the grand opening this week, which saw a good turnout, with BBC presenter Owain Wyn Evans officially cutting the ribbon to launch the space. Transforming an empty commercial unit into a welcoming charity furniture store, the space will act as a hub to tackle furniture poverty, reduce waste to landfill, and create opportunities within the local community. Our team completed a full refurbishment, including painting the concrete floors, overhauling the electrical roller doors, installing a new suspended ceiling, carrying out full internal decorations, creating a staff tea station, installing electric heating throughout, and adding new electrical sockets. A great result and a pleasure to be part of a project making a real difference. #BuildingABrighterTomorrow #TeamWillis #Refurbishment #CommunityImpact #Sustainability #FitOut
