Introducing GAFFER.
A short film about fear, masculinity and the lengths that those in power will go to maintain control over others.
As the manager of an unruly Sunday League team, the Gaffer lives for the 90 minutes every week where he’s in total control. But when Ryan - his best player and surrogate son - goes missing just minutes before the most important game of the season, the Gaffer’s fragile authority begins to crumble.

What a week. What a TEAM. Couldn’t be prouder of the work we’ve done this week. So humbling to have so many talented people donate their time and energy to our little film. The biggest, soppiest thanks to everyone who was on set with us this week, and a special shout out to the tireless @j.w.worrall.dop , @ajwproducer and @pybaggs for everything you did over the past few months to even get us to set - without you there’d be no film.

Had fun channeling early-naughties performance vids with some good eggs on this one. Full grunge mode mixing digital, 16mm and an old hi8 “transfer” to dirty our image up as much as possible.
We did a lot with a tiny crew on this one, so big shout out to Jack and Georgie for doing so much heavy lifting.
