Working with National Geographic and other partners, Wildpath’s Path of the Panther project helped inspire the Florida legislature to unanimously pass the Florida Wildlife Corridor Act in 2021 and commit more than $2 billion in funding to help protect the state’s vast network of public and private lands which support both wildlife and people. In addition to ongoing work to protect the remaining 8 million acres in the Florida Wildlife Corridor, Wildpath is leading new campaigns advocating for the protection of wildlife corridors in the Gulf of Mexico, throughout the Americas, and beyond. Follow along as we work together to create a future where wildlife and people can thrive.

Connected Planet is here 🌍 A new storytelling collaboration between Wildpath and the National Geographic Society. We’re taking the wildlife corridor movement global. These pathways connect forests, rivers, and oceans—but too many remain unprotected. Science shows us where they are. Storytelling can help protect them. Connected Planet supports National Geographic Explorers in telling these stories to drive real impact. Wildpath remains rooted in Florida and the Gulf of Mexico, building on the momentum of the Florida Wildlife Corridor Act. From local stories to a connected planet. Learn more at the link in bio. The 7,437-acre, Coastal Headwaters Longleaf Forest Project – Evergreen Timberco, located within the Florida Wildlife Corridor, was approved for a conservation easement through Florida Forever at the December 17 meeting of the Governor and Cabinet. Thank you to the landowner and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection for coming together to conserve this property. The Coastal Headwaters Longleaf Forest Project – Evergreen Timberco property preserves working timberlands and protection to the Escambia River watershed. Pine Barren Creek and Blue Water Creek cross the property, both of which flow into the Escambia River. The land provides habitat for gopher tortoises, reticulated flatwoods salamander, swallow-tailed kite, red-cockaded woodpecker, and more. @fl.dep , Photos by @leyoho / @wildpath , Map by @angeline.maps , @livewildlyfl #KeepFLWild #ConnectTheCorridor #FloridaWildlifeCorridor

It’s Manatee Appreciation Day! Manatees are listed as a threatened species and are protected by the Endangered Species Act and the Marine Mammal Protection Act. Aquatic vegetation and healthy waterways are vital to manatees as their food source and habitat. The health of estuaries, springs, rivers, and other ecosystems is essential for manatees and other aquatic life. Video by @ktbryden and @carltonward

Today is World Sparrow Day! A day dedicated to the awareness and conservation of sparrows. The Florida grasshopper sparrow is America’s most endangered songbird, with fewer than 200 remaining in the wild. If you haven't had the chance to see @wildpath 's short film, 'The Little Brown Bird,' you can watch now on National Geographic's Youtube or read the National Geographic article 'The unlikely comeback of America’s most endangered songbird' through our link in bio. The film and article tell the story of the hardships Florida grasshopper face and how scientists, ranchers, and conservationists can come together to protect this species.
