Happy GIS day!! 🗺️🧭
Today, let’s celebrate the mapping technology that helps protect wild Florida. GIS—Geographic Information Systems—layers maps, satellite imagery, and data to understand places, patterns, and change.
Scientists, planners, land managers, nonprofits, and local governments all use GIS to make smarter conservation decisions 🌎💚

We had the honor of receiving the Sustainability Science award from the Ecological Society of America for a paper summarizing our process of providing actionable science to the Florida Wildlife Corridor campaign. ✨ I was happy to accept the award alongside part of my old @archboldstation team. Shout out to the other authors that couldn't be here today, we missed you! Protecting wild Florida is a dynamic, collaborative effort, and I'm forever grateful to be a part of it. I'm glad I get to continue to collaborate with these great partners (and many more!) at @livewildlyfl

🌿 Watch Pritchard, a swallow-tailed kite, soar along the Florida Wildlife Corridor! 🌏
This incredible migration route provides crucial spaces for birds like Pritchard to roost, rest, and feed each year. Protecting these corridors is essential for preserving our wildlife and their natural habitats.
🔗 **Get Involved!** ARCI is conducting their annual kite survey through August 10. Participate by filling out the survey form linked in our bio.
