I’ve been TRYING to prepare myself for a future with an abundance of AI. Having question after question about how or if it will land in my industry…
Is there a bubble that will burst then skyrocket AI prices making AI a very niche and pricey tool?
If there are things replacing jobs, does that mean more small business owners with less employees?
Can AI make art or is it stealing? It is just a thing learning from examples it’s studied just like we do? If not, then isn’t soul what makes art… art?
Isn’t the fun of being creative & artistic partially the art of doing? Are we replacing the fun part? Or just the tedious parts? But if you’re move the difficulty, is it still as impactful? Think of practical effects vs green screen, if both are done equally well, is one better? Or is it more impressive that you faked it!? I guess immersion is the goal, so ai could be the best thing?
Will it replace or rearrange? In trying to research what happened in the past with major industry shifts there is a pattern, but nothing is like AI. I’m trying to relate it to; things like the internet boom, Netflix, electronic music, the combustion engine, the digital camera, hell even what the first camera did to painters/portraiture.
I have a lot of uncertainty right now but I think authenticity is key to moving forward in the industries I’m involved in.

I shot this without a tripod and 1 iPhone flashlight, all in camera, 1 photo, no compositing. It’s not about gear, it’s about a vision, problem solving and execution.
The background is real. The lighting is real. The bag is real. 20s exposure, propped my camera on a rock tilted up, placed the bag on a small outdoor coffee table. This was done on an air bnb driveway in Sedona, AZ.
Gear should be used to help smooth out the execution and sometimes improve it. It should not dictate it. Learn how to use what you have and build from there.

It’s Toasted.
I hate smoking, I always have. The smell, the taste, I could never understand. But they look so cool on film and TV. The Marlboro Man, Don Draper, the Shelbys, any soldier after a firefight… cigarette cases, Zippos, the social gadgets and ashtrays. So many cool things disappeared.
I’ve only bought a few packs and this is one of them. Just to photograph, not smoke 😂

I still can’t get over the image quality of this camera. @lumix s9 with @siruiimaging anamorphic 1.6x 50mm and some @prismlensfx filters. This rig is slept on 🤯. I’m so happy I didn’t go with Sony or Canon here.

The IS on anamorphics isn’t quite there. But that might be from the 1.6x lens on a camera that only has 1.5x IS as an option.
Otherwise this is an amazing kit to get extremely cinematic footage. Filmed at 6k, open gate, 420 for my camera nerds.
