Dearest everyone, we’re closing 2025 with a wedding that feels so close to the heart ❤️ Chris and Barbara married in Glasgow in June. Barbara is floral designer and founder of @wild_flower_workshop . She designed and styled all her own wedding flowers, wore a mustard yellow dress created from fabric that were once the curtains in her first flat with Chris and had an extra special reason for wanting to gather her family, nearest and dearest together…
“I had a cancer diagnosis in 2022 and as soon as I was well enough to travel after my treatment had finished, we booked a holiday to Malaga for us and the kids. It was on our last day there that Chris and the kids asked me to marry them (he’d told them five minutes before what he was planning, they’re terrible at keeping secrets!). I was totally taken aback. But of course said yes. A celebration with our loved ones to mark the end of a pretty bleak time was exactly what we needed. Also it felt like a way to say thank you for all their support.”
This beautiful wedding was photographed by @caroweissphoto , who has been a Love My Dress recommended supplier now for almost 15 years! She is an incredible talent, cool, funny, and like having a best friend hanging around on your wedding day. I adore her and am beyond privileged to be sharing her work with you this evening as we say goodbye to 2025 and hello to a happy, healthy new year for you all 💛🎉🍾🥂
Barbara - endless love to you darling. Thank you so much for trusting is to share your beautiful day. I am SO happy to see you so beautifully healed and full of joy! Love A xXx

The glorious wedding of Colin & Paul. 💗
This lovely pair renovated these derelict farm buildings in time to celebrate their wedding at home with all their important people. Every detail was personal and considered.
For their flowers, we spoke about celebrating the season but also a representing them as individuals within their respective cultures.
A palette of soft pastel colours, with enormous peonies, trailing orchids, allium and iris galore, oh and mushrooms, of course!

Choosing Your Dream Team
Our best advice when it comes to choosing your wedding suppliers? Choose people you actually like.
Yes, of course you should love their work, that part’s a given. But what really matters is how they make you feel.
Especially the ones you’ll spend the most time with on the day. If you don’t click, or they don’t bring a good energy, it’s going to affect your whole experience.
I’ve been talking with our daughter lately about what good friendships feel like. The right people make you feel calm, supported, accepted; like you can just be yourself. That’s exactly how your suppliers should make you feel too. Maddie + Nick picked good folks, see for yourself :)
If you’re looking for nice folk who also happen to take nice wedding photographs, hi it’s us!

After having to postpone their wedding due to ill health last October, K and H finally got to celebrate on Saturday and I couldn’t be happier for them !
We decided to ditch our plans for the original date and lean into a colourful springtime feel with gorgeous irises, fritillaries, tulips and anemones.
It was my first time visiting @theexchangeglasgow , what an amazing hidden gem of a venue.
Huge congratulations to K & H!! 🥳

2025 smooshed into under a minute.
Countless flowers. Thousands of miles traveled. And some truly wonderful couples.
I like this time of year. The studio empty, ready and waiting for all the colour of this year’s weddings to fill it.
I love meeting new clients, touching base with existing ones. Planning and designing so that when the madness hits; I’m ready for it.
So many lovely inquiries coming in recently. I love hearing all your plans. There’s still a couple of dates available this year and am taking bookings for’27 too.
There was one wedding last year that I had a bit more creative control than usual over the design of the flowers. My own.
That’s not to say there weren’t constraints; the budget wasn’t endless and everything had to be installed the day before. ( @chrismacfarlanestudio made me promise I wouldn’t be driving around town installing flowers and getting stressed on our wedding morning. -and I’m glad he did!)
I cringe slightly posting this. We very much didn’t get married in order to have fodder for social media, but these images by @caroweissphoto are just too beautiful not to share.
More than a few people said I was mad to even think about doing this myself. But I was excited about the freedom to experiment that it offered.
The starting point, as with every wedding I work on, is seasonality. Which are the flowers that capture that moment in time? And late June, for me at least means cornflowers, alliums and smokebush.
The intense blue of the cornflowers was continued throughout the venue by painting the plinths and a backdrop electric blue by @yes.colours 💙
My love of a brown flower was in evidence with orchids, anthurium, grasses and smokebush all in shades of soft, muddy golds and browns. I love the combination of primary and tertiary colours.
My son has a morbid fascination with carnivorous plants and I jumped at the chance to use these gorgeous pitcher plants in the table arrangements.
I really love how it turned out; reflective of us and that moment in time.
Would I do exactly the same if I could do it again?
Of course not! Where would be the fun in that?! 🙃
